The 9 Speed automatic is a welcome addition to the portfolio and I am sure it will help get a few more numbers every month. Having 4x4 with the diesel automatic, would give no scope for complaints for most buyers.
With FCA shutting the Fiat brand, a lot of pressure would be building up from the dealers to bring new versions in order to improve sales for their bread winner Jeep Compass.
I feel that FCA should look into localizing the production of a few more Jeep models, now that they have managed to build up a brand here.

Jeep Compass diesel-automatic to be launched this month, priced at ~ INR 25 lakh

Launched in July 2017, the Jeep Compass received a diesel-AT combo with the off-road-oriented Trailhawk variant only in June 2019. Because of the Trailhawk variant's steep price of INR 26.80 lakh*, it's out of the reach for many customers.

To cater to the customers who want to specify their Jeep Compass with a diesel engine and an automatic transmission but are reluctant to go for its Trailhawk variant, FCA will start offering the same in the standard variant from this month.

FCA will introduce the standard Jeep Compass with the 2.0L diesel engine linked to a 9-speed automatic transmission in the Limited Plus trim. The new configuration will be priced around INR 25 lakh (ex-showroom) and some dealerships have started unofficially accepting pre-bookings for the same. It will around INR 1.5-2.0 lakh cheaper than the Trailhawk variant.

Jeep Compass facelift interiors and exteriors spied – New images

The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift has been caught on camera for the first time in the streets of China in, of course, a test mule avatar. Considering the amount of camouflage it wears at the front, the facelifted Jeep Compass is expected to look considerably different from the current model. Changes, though subtle, extend to the sides and rear as well.

If you strain your eyes a bit, the new LED headlamp cluster and redesigned bumper lines can be imagined without any masks, to an extent. In comparison to the front fascia, the 2020 Jeep Compass’s rear-end does not carry any major revamp and could be limited to a new taillamp cluster and bumper design in the final production model.

The changes to the interiors are minimal as well. Since the centre portion of the dashboard is covered, we expect the facelifted Compass to have an all-new infotainment system.

Jeep Compass Diesel Automatic TVC

The video starts by showing the busy city streets filled with cars and in such type of conditions, it is irritating to at times to drive a manual transmission. the bumper to bumper traffic conditions are meant for automatic cars and that is what this TVC is trying to explain. The automatic transmission is available in the 4×4 variants and Jeep calls it the urban off-roader for that matter.

BS6 Jeep Compass launched

Jeep India has upgraded the entire Compass line-up with BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines. While variant-wise prices have not yet been announced, the brand says that they have risen by about Rs 25,000 for the petrol models and by up to Rs 1.1 lakh for the diesel models.

While Jeep had only recently introduced the BS6 diesel-automatic Compass that came with a 2.0-litre engine, the powertrains that have been upgraded now are the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol with a 6-speed manual, the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel with the 6-speed manual. The brand claims that there is no change in specification or configuration, which means the outputs are unchanged. However, we’ll have to wait and see if there is a difference in ARAI fuel efficiency figures – in BS4 form, the petrol-MT is rated at 14.3kpl, the petrol-AT at 14.1kpl, the diesel-MT 4x2 at 17.1kpl figure, and the diesel-MT 4x4 at 16.3kpl.

Jeep Compass Facelift With Bigger Touchscreen Coming – Details

The 2021 Jeep Compass will receive updates inside and out. The exterior is expected to gain restyled headlamps, front grille and bumpers. It will reportedly get plenty of revisions on the inside as there will be a redesigned dashboard, larger touchscreen infotainment system with UConnect, and a slew of driver-assistive and safety features on-board. No powertrain changes are likely on the cards as the 1.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines will continue to be present. Datta expects the market to recover only next year and reckons that demand post the end of lockdown could largely be seen only in the entry-level segments.

2020 Jeep Compass Facelift Teased Ahead Of Debut On June 4

The teaser indicates the presence of redesigned multi-slated front grille with honeycomb mesh and the “Connected With Freedom” tag shows that it will feature an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system – mostly the latest version of Uconnect 5. Compared to the outgoing model, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen is expected to be available with better in-car connective technologies capable of OTR updates.

The updated Compass could get a new 1.3-litre four-cylinder FireFly turbocharged engine in markets like Brazil and it may replace the 1.4-litre MultiAir2 Turbo unit. In lower trim, it makes 150 PS and 270 Nm paired with a six-speed dual dry clutch transmission while the 180 PS and 270 Nm version will likely be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

2020 Jeep Compass Night Eagle Special Edition Officially Teased

Jeep India has officially teased a special edition of the Compass SUV on its social media account. The upcoming special edition will be called Compass Night Eagle. And, the same edition was on sale in select international markets such as Brazil and the UK. Going by the teaser, the carmaker clearly stated that the 2020 Night Eagle special edition will be the first global limited-edition model of the Jeep Compass which will be launched soon. There's also the 'Night Eagle' badging on the right side of the boot-lid. However, the exact details of the special edition Compass are yet to be revealed.

On the inside, the Compass Night Eagle will be equipped with Gloss Black trims on the dashboard and black upholstery. Feature-wise, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, dual-zone climate control and keyless entry with push-button start, new driver assistance features among others.

Jeep Compass Night Eagle Edition Launched In India At Rs. 20.14 Lakh

After teasing the model online, Jeep India has finally launched the limited edition Compass Night Eagle in the domestic market. The said special edition variant of the Compass is already on sale in the international markets, and is priced at Rs. 20.14 lakh locally (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the petrol 4×2 AT. The production is limited to just 250 units for India. The Compass Night Eagle diesel 4×2 MT costs Rs. 20.75 lakh and Rs. 23.31 lakh for the 4×4 AT.

The Jeep Compass Night Eagle edition sports glossy black treatment on the front grille, roof, roof rails, and fog lamp bezels while it also be equipped with black R18 alloy wheels. Apart from that, the special edition Jeep SUV gets ‘Night Eagle’ badging on the front fenders, and the boot lid.

The black theme is carried over to the Compass’ cabin as well. The car features an all-black interior, Techno leather upholstery with black bezels and more. Jeep is offering the special edition Compass with the same powertrains as the regular SUV. That being said, the Compass comes equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel engine, as well as a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol unit.

2022 Jeep Compass Night Eagle Black Theme variant launched

Jeep has launched the Compass Night Eagle in India. Prices for the Jeep Compass Night Eagle start at Rs 21.95 lakh for the manual diesel version with the automatic petrol version retailing for Rs 22.75 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom).

Speaking about the launch of the new Jeep Compass Night Eagle, Nipun J Mahajan, Head of Jeep Brand - India, said, 'The Jeep Compass Night Eagle brings a new level of Boldness and Elegance with its all-black styling. The high demand for the Trailhawk, which was sold out in two months of launch, is testimony to the excitement for the Jeep Compass range and we expect to see similar enthusiasm for the Night Eagle.'

The Jeep Compass Night Eagle gives the American a full murdered out black theme. The Night Eagle Compass SUV gets a gloss-black finish for the grille, grille rings, 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rail, ORVMs, and fog lamp bezel among others. The roof is the only aberration to the theme and is a two-tone unit.

Step inside the new Jeep Compass Night Eagle and you'll be greeted by an all-black interior. Also seen is pure black cloth/vinyl upholstery for the seats with light tungsten stitching and black vinyl inserts for the door trim and IP. The interior also features piano black interior trim.

The Jeep Compass Night Eagle also features the full host of features found on the top-spec Compass (not including the Trailhawk) including the 7-inch instrument cluster, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.

The Jeep Compass Night Eagle is offered with two engine options - a 2.0-litre diesel and a 1.4-litre petrol. The larger 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 168bhp at 3750rpm and 350 Nm of peak torque at 1,750rpm. The engine is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission.
