Jeep Compass Petrol MT (Sport), which is also the base and only MT variant, is expected to be discontinued if rumors are to be believed. Jeep's official website currently shows it on sale though.

Jeep India has revised prices for the Compass range, with the entry-level Compass Sport trim costing Rs 1.7 lakh less, at Rs 18.99 lakh. The other five variants – Longitude, Night Eagle, Limited, Black Shark and Model S – have seen their prices increase by Rs 14,000.

The top-spec Compass Model S AT, the range-topping variant, is the only one to get 4x4 tech; other variants are front-wheel-drive only. In addition, since the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine was discontinued in May 2023, the Compass only has a 170hp, 350Nm, 2.0-litre diesel engine that's mated to either a 6-speed manual or 9-speed torque convertor automatic.

Compared to rivals like the Hyundai Tucson (Rs 29.02 lakh-35.94 lakh), Volkswagen Tiguan (Rs 35.17 lakh) and the Citroen C5 Aircross (Rs 37.67 lakh), although the Compass range starts far lower its higher variants are priced at par with the competition. It remains to be seen how the price revision affects the Compass’ sales in India.
