This map route takes you through Dindigul,instead you can catch the Highway road to Trichy,which would be time consuming and avoiding traffic mess.
You will be crossing Villupuram,from where Pondicherry is about an hour drive.
So that you can join the meet as a member from Pondicherry.

Surender your route is correct but there can be more fine tuning to it.
I drove on this same route last week and the road from Theni to Trichy is a 4 lane express way which is almost completed. Only problem was some vehicles coming in opposite direction. So Jayadev I would suggest you to take this route. it will save distance and time.
So the new route will be
Kochi-Ernakulam-Munnar-Theni-Dindigul-Trichy-Villipuram-Pondy

Sorry guys small correction, Theni to Dindigul is not 4 lane , its around 30 kms , but the road is really good , you can easily make that stretch in 30 mins flat ( if you are a normal driver ! ). After dindigul you will meet a flyover where there is no sign board at all , so take left here and from there its a 4 lane way. enjoy the drive. Be sure you drive on the second lane ( from the median )

It was a jeep hunt as well as a safari hunt yesterday. damn difficult to get a car. searching hard.
if nothing else i'll be with holysatan or surendar in their hyundai's .

Okay well things are shaping up nicely , i hope nobody drops out at the last moment , this time the meet looks even more promising!
And also me and Auto_luver we were discussing about this , instead of each going alone in his own cars why don't we combine together , atleast two people in a car? In that way we will save fuel and also get to know each other more. Local Chennai members can club together with other members who are staying nearby.
And also Chennai members while returning shall we return in ECR or through Dindivanam? I feel Dindivanam is safer at nights as its complete 4 lane highway throughout till you reach Chennai. ECR is fun but risky at nights.

@Jayadev sir,i don't think that you have to enter Dindigul and Theni,because when i came last week from Tirunelveli/Nagerkoil,we crossed borders of Madurai and then a long stretch,which entered Trichy.So,be careful while crossing the towns.
In simple words,follow the sign board saying Chennai,which would be almost along the straight lane.

well there is slight change in plan. i wont be coming via kochi but via thrissur/palakkad .
anyway i have figured out route in google map but yet i am looking forward for similar suggestions concerning road and traffic.
prefer good roads over short bad ones for a comfortable trip.

FE test lets see there are lots of good cars(diesels) around Fiesta , Verna , Accent , Punto and Swift!
