Here are some possible options for covering the rear loading area - many many options available in india including the imported carryboy ones from thailand as well as locally fabricated(imitations with warranty!) - some of them namely Dbox, Fullbox, Sportsbox, roller lid, full canopy, roll bars, shutters etc, compiling a post with all such images (image courtesy internet and Azad 4x4! )

I haven't yet decided which one to go, but the carryboy full box looks the chunkiest and most visually appealing.

Type-r you echoed my thoughts, I think this is the perfect Japanese brother for the Pajero sport. Yes I am planning for one shortly for the rear cover - there are many options and types I am still evaluating

It must be a pretty cool feeling to have two of the most reputed brands when it comes to reliability. Kudos and kind of jealous too! Rear cover I think is must to stop the leaves and other stuff from making the loading bay their home.

you bet! i was thinking its an epic combination - i just need a Toyota in my garage now to complete the jigsaw - reliability and durability epics cant be complete without a Toyota, can it ..

The rear lid can't be locked as of now - also if i travel with luggage it can be tricky - hence the need for a cover so that the rear can be fully secured. One more reason is a good box will improve things aerodynamically too by whatever small margin.

Yes 2 japs in the garage and they just about fit in - the isuzu requires a lot of space, nearly half a metre longer than the pajero sport (tight squeeze!)





camping trailer is also on quintessential list ..someday :)

One of the things i found very unique during taking the delivery of Vcross was the presence of the service manager and his team - usually its only the sales who give the vehicle delivery in a small function. But the presence of service managers/technicians was a pleasant surprise.

They ran me through the vehicle , many of its features (not that i needed it , but i enjoyed listening) , nitty gritties like where to put water , where is the stepney , jack, how they operate, running in period cautions. All in all i felt it was a very good thing to do from a customer perspective - for the uninformed this is a great practice, even for the informed it serves as a reminder!

Congratulations on you second Japanese Samurai. As I see, this Samurai has already started getting it's armour in form of upgrades for which the possibilities are simply endless unlike your other Samurai.

One question - the specific gravity on the PDI sheet seems to be incorrect as ideally it can between 1.100 to 1.300. Assuming there is some error in writing and the battery was fully charged, these readings fall under fair range while ideally it should be good range with value above 1.265 +/- temperature correction for a fully charged new battery.

Thank you sir, yes second samurai, as i said after the first its so hard to look elsewhere but the samurai direction only.

Sirji, forgive them they must have shifted a decimal - they don't have the experience of 16(right?) bullet batteries in series

Now that is some ground clearance, easily over a foot to climb up, i havent finalised the foot steps yet, looking for something solid.

I haven't posted much interior pics so posting a few here :-

A clean simplistic fascia and dashboard for a truck - dual tone beige/black









The after market Blaupunkt unit with the mapmyindia maps



A simply laid out ACC unit



Passenger side dashboard, small but functional, includes a 12V charger unit





An incredibly useful MID covering all typical functions used including FE, distance, trip meters etc



Super Chiller AC vents



Driver and passenger side gets air bags as standard



ahem, rear view - not much that can be seen if you have a small bike or car right behind!



An OBD port and broad cubby space to keep some knick knacks, dead pedal is present.



And some more space to keep some small items



Openable cup holder right in front of the ac vents to help cool



Light and Wiper stalks, pretty functional





Openable cup holders for the second row, however they can mess with your leg space, importantly notice the rear AC vents right underneath it on either sides - it works great and only works when you keep the AC in any one of the feet modes.



Rear cargo deck to shift homes occasionally!
