No that mark does not indicate the extra space. Not sure why it is there but may be identification area for technical person. I personally think the dashboard is big enough to make 2-3 more storage space in it
Most probably its for the airbag ....that may be available in top end variant

This HU was my second choice after the one I got installed. actually this was the first choice till I heard the Pioneer one and then my better half pressed for a CD options :(

BTW the car looks Fab and the interiors equally dashing. Apologies for not being able to congratulate you for your new machine earlier. Please share your feedback on the speakers, I am planning to get rear speakers for my Waggie as the front one does not justify a powerful HU.

Subscribing to your thread immediately. [clap]

Thanks envynicky [:)]

But the pioneer you choose got sub pre-out.... right ? Some subwoofer control in built for future upgrade....right ? That is something to consider. Anyhow you got CD playback capability as plus point.

About the GT6 S366 - It's 3way speaker - My actual order was S366 for front and two JBL CS-6 for rear which is cheaper than former and it is 2 way format....but due to lack of stock they only received JBL CS-4 which is 4" one of the same. As I'm worried how those 2 different spkr sync with each other......but when they asked what to do I immediately changed to four GT6 S366.

Anyhow, for my test of music they are amazing as the Acce.Manger told me even two will rock the cabin - (and it is true after I heard them), imagine how four will sound.
Maybe the next best thing S699 which is 9" oval version of the same and need to install at parcel tray....but I found this s366 produce ample bass or low / treble or high / mid or vocal note for my kind of likings.

my HU's sound setting as below on road regardless of window glass up or down

VOL : 11-13 (Available : 0-50)
Bass Level : +3 or 4 (-7 to +7)
Treble Level : + 7 (-7 to +7)
Balance : ~ (L15 ~ R15)
Fader : ~ (F15 ~ R15) (usage only if I need to turn off the rear speaker)
Loudness : ON (ON/OFF)

I don't want bhoomph or ghoomph when I'm on the road , but if you are a basshead then your only option to go for a sub.

Arijit,

Yes My HU is capable to add on sub-wof if required as a n upgrade. I definitely had this in mind while deciding on HU as I thought I might be upgrading in future. I still haven't figured out all capabilities pf my HU and haven't really played with it capability. I hope surprizes are in store for me. Have been running very busy with work load and hardly got time to take care of and improvise upon my Waggie.

I have got JBL CS-6 on front but believe they are not doing justice to HU. They are sounding good for low volume but clearly do not have strength for high capability. How much did GT6 S366 costed you?I will upgrade in next 3-4 months and might consider them along with sub or might eliminate subs.

As far are liking are considered I would require high bass, low treble, clear voice and like you no bhoom bhoom. Thanks for sharing your HU set up, I will give it a try on my HU and see how it performs but again this might take time before I can do hit n trial [frustration]

If I understand you correctly about your music test, I strongly recommend you to go for an audition before deciding anything.

I think your best option (if you stick with MGA due to warranty) will be JBL S699 with a parcel tray setup....or similar speaker but parcel tray is a must. This is a time tested formula to get great sound since the Ambassador days.

But when you consider Sub - Pre Out as features, sooner or later you will craving for one, so I suggest don't waste your money on anything, get a suitable sub outside with amp if warranty is not a concern. Also MGA also offer some sub & amp but judging their size I believe they are for Ertiga (didn't enquire though)

----------------------------------------

The treble can be adjusted by the HU's Sound parameters and CS-6 is known for not so clear Mid / Voice,

I would prefer a single din head unit and component speakers on front doors
My budget is 10000 max.

Dee with Single Din and 10K as budget you will have host of good options to choose from. Ideally a single Din good capable HU from Sony, Pioneer, JVC would be available between 4K-6K as per features on offer. You can choose one from them.

Coming to speakers I believe you would not be requiring or expecting a sub-woofer in this ranges. I also believe you will be requiring 4 speakers and not just 2 (like my case). if you need 4 speakers CS-4 from JVC is what I would recommended but it might slightly go out of budget depending on the HU you purchase. Around this range of CS-4 host of other speakers are also available and you should try them out and then make a choice

Arijit, I just found some spare time trying my hands at the controls of my HU. I must say I am impressed and surprised with what's on offer. The other day I had to wait inside my car for 30mins around and I used the time to set control as you have done for your case.

As per my preference I set bass boost to Powerful mode and Equalizer mode to Pop and guess what I am rocking. I can easily say the quality of music in my Waggie is now 300% better and bass is really cool even with these 2 CS-6.

I would continue experimenting and see what's on offer. However lately now I believe I would settle in for 2 rear speakers possibly CS-6 or better and would not go for a sub-wof + amp combination. Till will tell.

Howz your Ritz doing?
