but can you suggest me where to put the speakers up front??
will the JBL - CS 4 - 4'' 90W Coaxial Speakers fit in the dash, i was thinking of getting something like that get a 4ch amp & power up all the 4 speakers!!
will i be needing to change the head unit for better perfomane under this setup??

Sorry buddy i don't know much about alto[embarass]. If you want to connect all the speakers then how would you connect your sub. Are you planning to install 2 amps.

4" drivers are of no use. People use it as it is better to have "something" than nothing. If you wish to have drivers up front then go for 6" atleast and to install that you'd have to do some mods to the door pads for sure. If you are ok with that then good else you'd have to live with 4" drivers only.

I agree with @Freakdude, on the size of speakers.

hmmm.... thanks for the advice.. i think i'll get a 2 channel amp & will be happy with it!!
but can you suggest a suitable amp for my car??

Try sourcing JBL GT5-S422. It's quite adequate when comes to powering 6x9s. should be around 3.5 - 4K. Slightly better option is Pioneer GM-3500T. Should be around 4K.

THanks dude..I'm gonna get KENWOOD! I guess i"ll have to continue with my current HU, since I'm on tight budget!

Hey guys ! I own a maruti alto 07' model. I need some really good ice suggestions. I don't know anything about audio. My current speakers are some useless stock speakers (which i assume came with the car) in the rear and front and two pioneer tweeters in the front. My HU is Kenwood (Came with the car). I just need some excellent rear and front speakers. Also i would like to have a moderate 'thump' effect in the speakers without a sub :biggrin:. Help me out here guys.

The alto has a 4" stock provision for the front speakers on the dash.
If you are ready to modify your doors to fit in 6" speakers,it would make a huge difference to the sound.

Hey Guys ! Finally i upgraded from the crappy ice in my alto to JBL Speakers.Here's what i bought

1. JBL GTO-S959 GT Touring Series Three-way 440W - 4400k.
2. JBL - CS 4 - 4'' 90W Coaxial Speakers - 950
3. MDF Parcel Tray - 450

Totally it came out to 5800k. Not a very huge upgrade but a substantial one. Now waiting to get it fixed [:D]! Posting pic. Now i would like to know how else can i improve my music system.

My current configuration:
1. Kenwood HU from Maruti MOSFET 45WX4.
2. Four stock speakers (Front/Rear)
3. Two Pioneer tweeters in front dash.
