Santro's demanding huge repairs now a days but I guess it's normal since car is close to 1 lakh kilometres.

There was engine oil leak. Main seal needed to be changed.
The mechanic told me that clutch plate will need to be changed after a few kilometers so got a new clutch plate.

Clutch plate with pressure plate - 1350 rupees
Clutch bearing - 480 rupees
Labor - 700 rupees
Main seal - 300 rupees
Engine oil - 600 rupees
Gear oil - 230 rupees (1 liter)

Folks
I wish to share my experience with regard to change of tyres on my Santro. The vehicle had clocked 43k Kms.
I changed the tyres (4+1) of my santro xing from 155/70R13 to 165/65R13 . Went to Hercules tyres in Seshadripuram. I enquired about the price of MRF (tube type) as budget was a constraint for me. He quoted Rs 2850/tyre for MRF but with 1 year warranty. He suggested me to go for Apollo Amazer (Tube type) as it came with 3 yr warranty. He quoted Rs 3000/tyre but bargained the price to Rs 2900/tyre.
He did not have the 4.5J rim for mounting this tyre. So for the time being i got the 165/65R13 mounted on the existing santro rims (13" x 4J).
The tyre dealer also took the old tyres for second hand rate (Rs 100/tyre).
The total bill amount came to Rs 14000. Rs 500 was charged for wheel alignment and balancing.

Check reply number 226 the very first comment on this page for the clutch related prices.

Brake pads should cost you 250-350. At hyundai they cost around 1800 rupees.

I'm sorry i don't remember the brands but there are 2 brands in particular which have good rapport. If i visit my car mechanic for anything will surely ask him the brands.

Ps : i recommend to change the clutch plate from the company. My engine was already open for some other problem so got it replaced from the local mechanic.

Should cost you around the same in the company since local mechanic was charging me 5000 rupees for my i10's clutch and hyundai was charging 5500 rupees so got it done from hyundai.

For i10 they gave me an estimate of 17000 rupees including condensor also. I wouldn't have mind changing the coil but they want to replace each and every part.
