What an exhaustive review 350Z. Excellent coverage of the car and loved reading every bit of it. The new fluidic avatar of the Santa Fe looks like a million years ahead than the previous one. Though pricing seems to be a little overboard from Hyundai. They should've priced it aggressively against the likes of Fortuner, Rexton. Now it seems to go a tad beyond the other contenders and it really doesn't have the Snob value to compete against the likes of BMW X1 or Audi Q3. I am sure we will see a price correction for this car from Hyundai with-in an year's time.

Superb review and thanks for numerous pictures. The looks definitely gone 2 notches up from the previous gen especially rear tail lights which resembles Audi. Only if they price it lower like Rexton they could catch up in the market. But, neverthless the most practical Suv than Q3.
So, are the comfort levels of third row are comparable to Fortuner and other contenders?
I felt fortuner to be less spacious on inside than its size suggests so space wise it should be similar to Sante fe I think.

That's a nicely written review.

However talking about the SUV, I must say for 25L ex showroom, customer surely expects GPS and navigation, nice 3rd seat legroom, kmpl, DRLs in headlamps, not so Eonish headlamps, dynamic steering. Hyundai must add these to make this car sustain the market. Else Fortuner with 'great style and not so great SUV' will surely win.

Excellent review of Hyundai Santa-Fe 2014. Congrats 350Z.
Some of the pictures indicate Kerala. So, did you come to Kerala for the coverage?

2199CC Engine with 197PS Power. What would be the mileage?
Fuel Tank Capacity is relatively small when compared to 70L of Fortuner.
Ground Clearance is also very low, when compared to others.

Yup. I fell in love with the greenery of Kerala. Although weather was not too pleasing this time.

That’s the LWB version which has 2800 MM wheelbase instead of 2700 MM that Indian version receives (as also stated in the review).

Good review 350Z lookslike they flew all the media to Kerala, just like in Autocar India videos, noticed you have the same i20 as an escort car.
Looking at the price Comparison noticed you can get the base Audi Q3,but am sure Fortuner buyers will be looking at this car,sad to hear its not a driving enthusiasts car like the Fortuner, but good to know its got alot of features. Looking at the sales chart for next 6 months should tell if this car is a hit or not like its predecessor.

Hyundai Santa-Fe 2014 is having FlexSteer Steering wheel with Advanced Cornering Control. Any idea about FlexSteer Steering wheel? What is it? Any Advantageous?

It’s all covered in depth in our review on the first page of this thread. Quoting a statement from Post #5.
In the second leg, it was time for this suave SUV to prove mettle on twisty Western Ghats and some rough patches. From overall package itself it becomes obvious that Santa-Fe’s prime focus is towards delivering comfort and features rather than to please the enthusiasts. And that’s exactly how it behaves on road. Soft suspension is tuned to maximize comfort levels translating that one would not even observe usual irregularities of the street but drive harder on an uneven patch and the car reciprocates with a noticeable bump in the cabin. Being monocoque, one could be comparatively unkind during cornering but lack of precision from the steering wheel is a letdown despite of the three modes to choose from. By default, steering wheel is set to ‘normal’ mode, Tap the steering mounted button and driver can alter its feel based on driving conditions. Comfort mode makes it lighter and is ideal for cities while ‘Sport’ is best suited for highway driving as it weighs up the steering wheel.

Ok am not 100% sure here,
but what they call flexsteer seems to be 3 steering weight modes. Some people use to complain the steering was too light in Hyundai's(it was speed sensitive usually) so guessing thats what it is.

As for what they call Advanced Cornering Control ,its just traction control using the all wheel drive system. Am sure its very good, but its only available on the top Automatic 4WD model.
Seems more to be the vehicles electronic stability program + traction control

Thanks 350Z, and Prads.

The side profile of Santa-Fe2014, and Tucson2014 are almost same.
