Hyundai has setup a 30-feet tall “Namaste” installation near IGI airport (Delhi) which is designed to represent the sustainable future of mobility.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), country’s first smart mobility solutions provider and largest exporter since inception, today unveiled an iconic ‘Namaste’ installation near the IGI Airport, New Delhi to welcome all its visitors. Inspired from the brand vision of Progress for Humanity, the ‘Namaste’ installation is designed to represent the sustainable future of mobility.

The 30 feet tall ‘Namaste’ installation comprises of a robotic hand that symbolizes the Advanced Technology along with human hand in a wheel representing the integral role of humanity in Long Term Sustainability & Progress for Humanity. The installation is centrally located on the approach road to IGI Airport and will cater to visitors coming from New Delhi and Gurugram to IGI airport as well as those coming from the airport side to enter Delhi. Use of live plants surrounding the installation, showcases Hyundai’s values of collectively working for a better and sustainable tomorrow. The initiative is the true testament of Hyundai’s commitment to India in line with its brand direction of “Beyond Mobility”.

Hyundai Motor India has announced a strategic partnership with Tata Power to build a robust EV charging network and boost EV adoption in India at its dealerships.

Under this collaboration, public EV charging stations at Hyundai dealership locations will be installed and end-to-end charging solutions at home will be offered for customer convenience and hassle-free EV ownership.

The charging stations at Hyundai Dealerships will be open for all electric vehicle customers and accessible through Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge Mobile App.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd., country’s first smart mobility solutions provider and the largest exporter since its inception, today announced strategic partnership with Tata Power, one of India's largest integrated power companies and a leading EV charging infrastructure provider to build a robust EV charging network and boost EV adoption in India at its dealerships. Through this association, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. will become a key contributor in expansion of quality charging infrastructure.

The MoU was signed between Hyundai Motor India Ltd. and Tata Power in the presence of Mr. Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited and Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, at HMIL's Headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana.

HMIL currently has an existing network of 34 EV Dealers in 29 cities, equipped with AC 7.2 kW chargers, and aims to expand the charging infra network across its pan India Dealerships. The vehicle charging time of DC 60 kW charger is much lesser than AC 7.2 kW charger. These DC 60 kW charging stations will enhance customer convenience.

The charging stations at Hyundai Dealerships will be open for all electric vehicle customers and accessible through Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge Mobile App.

HMIL will facilitate through its dealerships, space and necessary administrative approvals, while Tata Power will operate and maintain the charging stations. Easy accessibility of charging stations through Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge Mobile App will enable customers to navigate, locate, and make payments, access live status, and pre-book slots for the charging stations for a hassle-free and smooth vehicle charging experience.

Hyundai has announced the second edition of Bluelink Championship. The customers can register to participate from 13th June – 22nd June, 2022.

Hyundai will also send personalized invitation to individual eligible customers. The duration for the championship will be 31 days and winners will be announced on 30th July 2022.

The championship is region specific. Top 3 scorers from the respective regions will be rewarded with gift vouchers and top 60 customers will be rewarded with e-trophies.

To participate in the month-long championship, Hyundai customers can register from June 13 - 22, 2022.

Commenting on Bluelink Championship 2.0, Mr Brijesh Gubbi Suresh, Group Head - New Business Strategy, HMIL said, “The Bluelink Championship gained very high appreciation from customers as it encourages customers to exhibit their driving skills, competing with other fellow driving participants on their driving behaviour patterns and win prizes. With this championship, Hyundai has taken a step forward to create awareness among Hyundai Customers on the safety of their driving pattern while making urite car fuel efficient through responsible driving skills”.

In order to make the championship more attractive & engaging, the winner’s reward value has been increased. In addition, now the participants can also check their scores more frequently to keep themselves updated on driving patterns while continuously improving driving habits to win a reward.

Hyundai Bluelink Champions will be identified through an analysis of driving behaviour & deriving scores based on parameters that include - smooth driving, over speeding, sudden braking & acceleration and distance travelled. Driving Score of individual Hyundai driver ranges from 0 to 100, 100 being the best. To improve their driving habits and driving scores, tips have been provided to Hyundai drivers.

While creating a safe driving ecosystem, this initiative will increase awareness of safe driving practices while contributing to make a safe society.

Championship Details:

Hyundai Bluelink connected car technology was first introduced on Hyundai VENUE in May 2019 to enhance customer safety, security, convenience & performance. Bluelink connected car services are now available across 8 Hyundai models.

Bluelink brings connectivity directly into the car, in case of emergency buttons on the rear-view mirror such as SOS, Road Side Assistance & call center assistance can be used. The Voice-command system, which allows the user to control various in-car functions like opening/closing the sunroof, controlling seat ventilation, adjusting the climate control setting, temperature etc. Bluelink can also provide live cricket updates and Indian public holiday information.

With Bluelink mobile app, users can control various remote functions – like locking/unlocking their vehicles, turning the AC and air purifier on or off and checking vehicle status etc. Customers can also operate certain features from their smartwatch.

Hyundai introduces 6th, 7th year extended warranty on petrol SUVs, cars

Hyundai India has introduced a new extended warranty option for the sixth and seventh year for its petrol cars and SUVs. The new option too will be available in two slabs – one within 90 days of the car’s delivery and the other after 90 days of delivery, but before the expiry of the basic or the extended warranty.

Hyundai giving buyers three options with the new warranty scheme. The first one is where an existing customer with a five-year-old model can separately purchase a 2 year/1,00,000 extended warranty, i.e., a 6th and 7th year/1,00,000km warranty. This is applicable to Hyundai’s current line-up like the Venue SUV, Aura compact sedan, the Grand i10 Nios hatchback as well as some of the brand’s now discontinued models like the Eon. Prices for this warranty range between Rs 6,989 and Rs 27,762, depending on the model and delivery period slab.

The second option applies to cars that are four years old, where buyers can opt for an additional 3 year/1,00,000km warranty, the prices for which range from Rs 9,521 to Rs 37,820, depending on the model and delivery period slab.

The third option is for buyers who wish to continue beyond the standard 3-year warranty offered on Hyundai cars. They can extend their warranty with the 4 year/1,00,000km pack by paying between Rs 15,154 and Rs 46,530, depending on the model and the delivery period slab.

Hyundai Motor India Limited has announced its large-scale long term investment plans in the state of Tamil Nadu:
  • The company will make further inroads into electric vehicles and modernization of vehicle platform by investing ₹20 000 crore in a phased manner over the period of 10 years (2023 to 2032).
  • Hyundai will set up a state-of-the-art battery pack assembly unit with annual capacity to assemble 1,78,000 units of batteries and install 100 EV Charging Stations at key locations in major highways in next 5 years.
  • The EV charging stations will include 5 Dual Ultra-Fast Charging Stations (DC 150 KW +DC 60 KW), 10 Single Fast Charging Stations (DC 150 KW) and 85 Single Fast Charging Stations (DC 60 KW).
  • Hyundai has also announced its plan to further increase the total production volumes to 8,50,000 units per year and introduce new Electric and ICE vehicles from its manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur.

In a move toward gender inclusivity and skill development, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has facilitated employment for 250 trained women drivers in the Delhi NCR region. This initiative is part of HMIF's Drive4Progress program, in collaboration with 'Navjyoti Transforming Lives & Careers Society' NGO and BluSmart, India's leading EV ride-hailing service.

'Drive4Progress aligns with Hyundai's global vision of 'Progress for Humanity', showcasing our commitment to empowering women and enhancing their skills,' stated Puneet Anand. He emphasised the initiative's role in not only advancing gender equality but also addressing India's need for a skilled workforce in the burgeoning transportation sector.

BluSmart's Anirudh Arun expressed his company's dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive workspace, particularly emphasising their efforts to integrate women drivers into their fleet. 'Our focus on training and empowering women driver partners demonstrates our commitment to gender inclusivity and our broader mission of decarbonisation,' he remarked.

The program, designed to uplift individuals from Below Poverty Line (BPL) communities, offers comprehensive driver training to equip them with the necessary skills for employment in the transportation industry.

Participants of the Drive4Progress initiative undergo extensive training covering theoretical knowledge, practical driving skills, soft skills enhancement, and customer service, culminating in a certification by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Post-training, these skilled women drivers are provided with employment opportunities within BluSmart's EV fleet, marking a significant step towards economic empowerment and active participation in the green mobility revolution.

Hyundai Motor Group has partnered with Indian Institutes of Technology to establish a collaborative research system in the fields of batteries and electrification. The institutes include IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and IIT Madras.
  • The Hyundai Center of Excellence (CoE), which will be set up within IIT Delhi, will operate through sponsorships from Hyundai Motor Group.
  • The primary objective of the Hyundai CoE is to take the lead in driving advancements in batteries and electrification, specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of the Indian market.
  • Hyundai Motor Group plans to invest around USD 7 million over five years, from 2025 to 2029, to jointly conduct battery and electrification-related research with the four IIT universities.
  • The collaboration will expand into areas like software and hydrogen fuel cells. The Group plans to contribute to the establishment of an electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in India.
  • The collaboration will involve the Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART), the only EV-related research institute in India, located within IIT Delhi.
