Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna SX (O) VTVT Black 2013 - 7 months & 7000 KM Ownership revie

In India, safety is always a "compromised" word. Hyundai knew that people will get more carried away by enhanced looks and features rather than providing more enhanced safety features. Side Airbags and curtain airbags may seems luxury in perspective of basic safety, hence they eliminated them and concentrated more towards aesthetic point of few at same price.

I was aware of projector headlamps during month of July, when I first saw the new alloy design Verna at Advaith Hyundai. (I started checking korean Hyundai site where the new model with projector headlamps was available then in July). However, I opted for SX version than SX-O as SX-O was whooping 1.7 lakhs more than SX.

Now , I am happy with my decision.

It's available in ebay.com but looking at the price, I really do not think it's a necessity to fit aftermarket. I am happy with my existing headlamps.

Projector Headlights LED DRL for Hyundai Accent Solaris 2011 2012 2013 2014 | eBay
If you search more, you will get it far more less price, outside ebay also. Like these bellow:
Genuine Parts Projection DRL Head Lamp Fit Hyundai 2011 2013 Accent 4 5DOOR | eBay
For 12 14 Accent 4D Sedan 5D Hatchback Halo Projector Headlamps Blk LED Parking | eBay
LED Projection Day Light Head Light Lamp Left for Hyundai Accent 2012 2014 | eBay
I’ve seen earlier someone brought a setup like this from ebay and installed it, but I forgot who and the exact link.

It's around 850$ including shipping excluding duty, if any, that comes to 50k+. And with the dealer, most of the guys are saying 25k - 40k.

Yes I’m talking about the same, the OEM one. You just need to look for. The OEM projector headlamp on Accent/Solaris (Verna outside of india) released long time back and its been selling on ebay since long.

Even like I said few showroom fits projectors and sold those car as an upgraded at extra price, those too are OEM but I don’t know from where they got those. If I got that link again I will share.

If the whole setup is to cost more than 30k it's better to go for a good aftermarket projectors with angel eye . Imo I don't like the drl in the headlamp which looks cheap .

Damn !
Hyundai is going to suffer for all this.
Really this is too much compromise for lights IMO.
I still see the 6 airbags on their wesite [sleep] If they expect it to outsell the city now then they are in trouble.
As for the price if it costs around 40K then it is better to get aftermarket one as company provided are halogen projector [frustration].
No regrets in getting the old version for me [:D]

Midknight so do I [:D]. I'd have given a thought about the projectors if it had xenon bulbs .

Midnight,

Let me clarify here. Your's is not an older version. Its the new updated version. As you have opted for SX, hence you do not have projector headlamps. Projector lamps only comes with SX(O).

So chill and be happy as I am. Personally, I like my car's headlamp and not a very big fan of the projector headlamps and its design. And why the HID light is yellow? they should have made it white.

Yes you are correct it only comes in SX(O). I even had asked our sales rep while PDI if there is any projector setup from hyundai and all he said was they have a HID kit which IMO will do nothing but blind other fellows on road without a projector.
If projectors were available with all the previous features of airbags etc then I would have happily paid 1+lakh extra for the SX(O).
Btw I am a big fan of white projector headlamps
White lights are useless in rain and fog. Even the throw of white lights inside the city is absorbed by the yellow lights of other vehicles if noticed accurately. Most people who uses white lights for showoff use high intensity like 6000/8000K or so which only blinds other people due to glare and does not provide better visibility at all. [Our government does not allow anything above 4000 or 5000K as the glare is too much above this.]
AFAIK hyundai is providing halogen not HID.
Best way is bi xenon projector which are expensive but effective.

FYI

From one of the member dbarma's thread, who got a new Verna SX(o) confirmed that all 6 airbags are available and no compromise on the safety.
