Has anyone installed after-market reverse parking camera in Creta in variants like 1.6 SX which has only parking sensors ?

My dealer is giving me 2 option :

Option 1 : Swap the 5" screen with 7" screen as in 1.6 SX+. Apart from reverse camera output in the screen one will get navigation & dvd output also. Price 55k. If one swap the 5" screen then price will be reduced by 10k to 45k.

Option 2 : Elite i20 & Verna assembly to be used. The camera output will be on the IRVM. This will cost 15k.

Apart from this dealer is also not willing to install third party hardware and also not encouraging to get it installed from outside.

Any pointers out there ?

If you really don't want navigation then there will be plenty of rearview mirror integrated
systems available in the market.Dealers always do the same trick saying warranty will be voided...etc stuff. i have installed one in my Chevy sail even though dealer did not encourage me to do it.End of the day it is your call anyway!.If you prefer navigation then if the price difference is not too much between after market and factory fitted,then i think it is better to go with the stock unit.

Even I am going to book Creta 1.6 SX within a week's time.

I had installed a cheap 7 inch bluetooth HUD (Panasound) and reverse camera for a total amount of Rs. 7,200 on my Vista and now I am so used to it that a reverse camera will be a must have for me. So much so, I was considering 1.4 S+ as it has the reverse camera with steering adaptive guiding lines.

I am going to ask my dealer how much will installation of Creta's reverse camera and HUD cost me with replacement and if he also quotes me a price in vicinity of 40K, I will go for a 10.1 inch android based HUD with mirror link and reverse camera from Aliexpress, which will be considerably cheaper.

You can also consider a rear view mirror display based reverse camera as has been installed on this Creta 1.4 S

However I personally would prefer a HUD based display and Android Google Maps :)

What kind of warranty voiding risks do I run if I go for a Chinese HUD from Aliexpress? Are these threats from the dealers legitimate?

As per my knowledge if any electrical issue pops up dealer can claim that it is because of the installation of the 3rd party accessories.

i am just guessing as i never experienced any failure till now.

Okay. I will confirm if the ix25 android units being sold will be "plug and play" compatible with creta and with no wire cutting the dealer can't make the 3rd party accessories excuse.

He even demo the same in the Test Drive Creta.

It comes with total 4 Cameras ( 1 Front on Logo, 2 Under Side Mirrors, 1 Back side under Chrome line) you can see the front gap distance, side gaps, reverse parking gaps which has controls on dashboard near Instrument Cluster. I am really impressed with that setup, looking to Purchase shortly. They will replace existing IRVM with this new IRVM for Camera. Since it is dealer accessory there is no issue on Warranty claims & approved as CRETA Accessory. Please check out at your dealer.

Cost is around INR 17000/- you can bargain little with accesory guy.

1) Bergmann Tornado Car Vacuum Cleaner from Amazon for 649/- (On offer price)
2) 3M Liquid Wax for 165/- (On offer price)
3) Digitek Double charging Car mobile charge - 260/-

Looking for shiner or polisher - Friends any recommendations in Bangalore
1) Side cladding + Front & Back Bumper
2) Dashboard Polish
3) Sun film for Windows/Front wind shield

Is it good to put Vinyl Sticker for Side Cladding & Bumpers to keep the black color looks otherwise it will shade due to parking in Open Sunlight (My Office Parking don't have covered parking

dear friend chidu regularly apply 3M tyre dresser as a polishing in the plastic cladding so that it won't get faded out. (just a suggestion) because i tired it in my cars and it do worked.

Go for 3M sunflims. It is good and they also do a professional job in installing. For dashboard, I would suggest Meguair's dash polish. You can find it in the below link. I got the camera installed in my Creta SX, not on rear view mirror but in head unit. Engage the reverse gear and camera gets on, like in SX+ models.

i got torq rear view mirror and cam fitted
costed 9k

the rear view mirror is similar to that of verna and its not a clip-on type and the entire ovrm is replaced and the new unit is attached

worth the money and very good quality

and even replaced cabin lights with cool white bulbs
and got 3m tints on all 5 glasses expect front windshield
and replaced the stock speakers to POLK DB series speakers ( component and coaxial combo) with stock 5" Headunit

Next mods:
Adding an amplifier and damping the doors
HID's , the stock bulbs are worst
and gloss black wrap on the roof and sides

This is available at Trident Hyundai - KR Puram (Near to Honda, Renault Showroom).
Check with accessory guy (Don't remember his name). They even installed in Test drive cars. It will cost around 17-18 K as per him.
Negotiate it if you need.

I got the camera installed in my Creta SX, not on rear view mirror but in head unit. Engage the reverse gear and camera gets on, like in SX+ models.

Accessory guy told me that it is not possible to installed in SX Head unit as it doesn't have Video output. Could you please provide the details where & which service centre it is done for your car. In Bangalore any reference.

According to Accessories department of Trident Sadashivnagar, for models having non touch screen Head Units, Just a camera with some wiring harness can be added to the existing Head Unit so that you can get the display when reverse gear is engaged.
