Friends,

After test driving grand i10 again to check the AC effectiveness, I must say there is some problem with grand's AC, which is much lesser effective than out going i10. So I am striking off grand i10 from my list.

Only car in consideration is City CVT. Need someone to throw more light on city CVT's AC and mileage.
Hi
Honda City AC is very much effective and will give mileage around 13-12 KMPL IN THE CITY (ACC TO MANY FORUMS)

Test drove Linea TJet 2013 model today. Just one word, Fantastic. Only two features I would be missing, auto transmission and sunroof. And one grouse I had that there was engine noise filtering into the cabin.

Price of Linea Tjet topend here in Pune is 1030000/-
Price of City CVT vx is 1280000/-

Tomorrow will be test driving 2014 TJet. Will keep you guys updated.

Hi, test drove TJet 2014 today. It felt solid as a tank and a good road presence. Fantastic pickup. Don't know the mileage it will give. As per SA, mileage will be 13 in city with AC on. There is no engine noise inside the cabin of Linea.
This car truly feels premium. Good under thigh support. Honda has cheated here, by increasing the legroom, Honda have reduced the under thigh support.
Now I am royally confused. Any TJet owners please shed some light here. Linea had good sound insulation, better AC and excellent GC when compared to City. The City which I was comparing, cvt vx model has auto transmission and sunroof in addition.

Friends need your suggestions in arriving at a good decision.

if you can really live without AT and sunroof then go for Linea eyes closed. I also drove a Tjet yesterday and absolutely fell in love with it.

Why not consider buying a new Swift Dzire? MS has just begun offering it with an Auto transmission and it should qualify all the other items on your checklist!

Although there is no sunroof, since the car should only cost ~7 lakh on-road you could even go for an aftermarket sunroof.

If you want a hatchback, I think it's only a matter of months if not weeks before MS starts selling the Swift with Auto transmission as well.

Friends,

Yesterday test drove both cars back to back.

Linea TJet
1. TJet is a rocket on highways if we do not look at instant fuel consumption.
2. Safer car
3. Good AC
4. Good GC
5. Excellent pickup
6. Good under thigh support
Things not liked by family (dad and wife)
1. It felt coarser than city cvt
2. Hard suspensions
3. Car was jumping a lot

City CVT
1. Easy to drive as it's an automatic
2. Better leg room
3. More airy cabin
4. Better mileage being an automatic
5. Soft suspensions when compared to Linea
Things not liked by family (dad and wife)
1. Weaker AC
2. Low GC

TJet available in 2 days, city cvt vx waiting period is 4-6 months. My dad and wife are inclined towards city and me confused.

How can you say Honda Ac is not effective ! .Its chills the car in no time . Lower GC issue has been fixed by tweaking the suspension even if 5 people on board .

Go for City .

I test drove the city CVT couple of times from 10 am to 3 pm. At all times the AC didn't feel that effective.

May be it is a problem with test drive car.

Regarding AC, Honda city is a bench mark in the segment.

My brother have a black 2007 city zx. It has a chiller Ac even after 7 years. Even though it is under the hot son for hours, it will cool the big cabin in less than 2 minutes. this car doesnt have a sunfilm too.

I had a discussion with Ac technicians regarding this cars Ac. As per them, it is this cars Ac condenser & radiator design helps it to cool faster. Both has same size and look closely packed and 2 fans comes behind this too.

I agree that the City AC is pretty amazing! It even maintains temperature on the hottest, most exposed roads!

Hi guys, revisiting this thread again. After couple of test drives I found that,
1. Best manual car -- Linea TJet
2. Better automatic car city cvt
3. Much better automatic hatch i20. But they have removed some vital features from it, like passenger airbag, seat height adjust and rear wiper.

Need suggestion on same.

brother, it all comes down to what you actually want. all 3 mentioned above are superb in their respective segments. you need to choose which segment to ahead with. [:)]
