Re: Honda Unicorn 160 Coming on 18th December

looks are subjective. From my presepctive, i would like the outgoing design. this looks to be a mixmatch of FZ and gixxer.

Honda has now launched the Unicorn 163 CC in India at a price tag of Rs.69,350 (Ex.showroom, Delhi)

> Available in Standard & CBS variants.

> Delivers a claimed mileage of 62 Kmpl.

> Targeted for the youth population in the age group of 25 – 35 Years.

Excerpt from Press Release:
Contemporary and Aggressive Design

Styled to perfection, the new CB Unicorn 160 is conceptualized keeping the youth in mind, which is visible in its sharp and edgy design. Aggressive looking fuel tank with floating side cowls adds a dash of masculinity to its look, while the shining 3D emblem strengthens the legacy of brand Honda. Arrow shaped trendy side panel also contributes to the aggressive styling.
The beaming headlight provides high-precision illumination and looks stunning at the same time. The LED tail light is designed in a stylish H-shape. It has been aligned with clear winkers, which glimmer from a distance. Its ultra-modern design is inherent in its chrome-finished muffler, which also adds to the style appeal.

Advanced Technology

Powered by Honda Eco Technology (HET), the all new engine is enhanced with many advanced features, which makes it pro-technology. The latest 163cc mid-sized advanced Honda engine has long stroke which means extra torque and higher fuel efficiency. It achieves best in class compression ratio, for delivering the right punch of power. It is also equipped with weight balancer which reduces the vibrations.

Best combination of Power Performance and Mileage with revolutionary HET

Considering everyday usage CB Unicorn 160 delivers best in class mileage of 62 km/l*. Small spines to the outer surface of the motorcycle improve the cooling performance and help reduce distortion of the inner cylinders shape. In addition, centrifugal casting allows a thin, uniform wall thickness, which helps in weight reduction. The new engine delivers unbeatable power and torque even at low speed. Boosted by Honda Eco Technology (HET), there is never a compromise on power and pick-up.

Perfect for Indian roads

Riding through busy roads couldn’t have been easier on the CB Unicorn 160 as it comes with wide handle turning angle and short radius that can maneuver the sharpest of turns. During dense traffic requiring frequent gear shifts, full gear lever helps make riding convenient.

Stability and Comfort

CB Unicorn 160 with it’s class leading wheelbase helps in maintaining stability. Combi-Brake System (CBS) significantly reduces the stopping distance giving the rider full confidence to enjoy the optimum speed without worrying about the brake operation. The mono shock suspension helps in maintaining the center of gravity thus increasing the stability while taking sharp turns. The improved and upright sitting posture of the motorcycle adds a renewed comfort level for everyday riding.
Official Statement:
“The New CB Unicorn 160 is Honda’s fourth launch of 2014 after Activa 125, CD110 and Gold Wing. With this launch, Honda is further strengthening its portfolio in 150cc-180cc motorcycle segment, designed to woo the youth. 2014 has been an action-packed year for Honda, where we have scaled new milestones like achieving 19 million sales this week. We look forward to carry this momentum into the new year”, said Mr. Keita Muramatsu - President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.

“CB Unicorn 160 is designed to attract the style and fashion conscious youth. It is a winning proposition for anyone looking for real value, without compromise on style, performance, advanced features, mileage and maximum riding comfort. CB Unicorn 160 will be available to customers from the 3rd week of January 2014. We are confident that with CB Unicorn 160, we will drive customer demand and further strengthen Honda’s position in the 150-180cc motorcycle segment.” said Mr. Y. S. Guleria, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.

The Bike looks Good, But I'm not a fan of H shaped Stop/Rear Light - Unless it's a Bright RED LED, The function of the Stop Light pretty useless as I feel in bright day light.

Wish it equipped with 6-Speed transmission like Suzuki as well Split Grab Rail for Caring Shopping/Bazer Bag like HMC's CBZ Xtreme.

As I failed to understand this 163 cc produce same 14.5 bhp which is available with any other rival, So what is the point of upgrading the cc ?

The into seems to be incorrect. Extreme sports produces more then 15 PS.
Ever Discover 150 gave 72 Km? And apache would give at least 55 kmpl if ridden sane. Discover will never give 72 kmpl even of ridden sane.
Other are all correct.

So when will the Unicorn 160 gets into the handed of people?
And is TAI planning to make a review of this???[:D]

In case of TVS Apache, the fuel economy varies from 45-to-55 km/l.

Honda CB Unicorn 160 discontinued in the Indian market - Report

Honda-CB-Unicorn-160-Matt-Grey-front-quarter-at-Auto-Expo-2016.jpg

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has axed the CB Unicorn 160 from its portfolio, reports Express Drives. The motorcycle did not receive the safety net of ABS, which is mandatory for all two-wheelers above 125 cc displacement in the Indian market. Do note that the model is still listed in two variants – Standard and CBS – on the company’s India website. The standard variant was priced at INR 75,884*, while the CBS variant retailed at INR 78,332*. Regular readers would know that the CBS tech is valid for two-wheelers under 125 cc of displacement.

2020 Honda Unicorn 160 BS6 Launched In India; Prices Start At ₹ 93,593

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has updated its popular-selling Unicorn motorcycle to the BS6 emission norms. The 2020 Honda Unicorn 160 BS6 is priced from ₹ 93,593 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and gets a steep hike in prices by about ₹ 13,500 over the outgoing Unicorn 150 ABS. Honda has rebranded the motorcycle to just the 'Unicorn' denoting that only a single version will be on offer. This means the Unicorn's 150 cc engine will be discontinued and the bike has been upgraded to the 160 cc power mill. The current CB Unicorn 160 also gets discontinued as a result, which featured a more premium design and a more powerful engine. The new Unicorn 160 BS6 not only gets an updated engine but revised styling, improved comfortability, and finally, an engine kill switch.

Honda Unicorn 160 updated, priced at Rs 1.19 lakh

20241226015855_2.jpg

The ever-popular Honda Unicorn has been updated once again. The premium commuter has received a minor update in the form of an OBD2B-compliant engine and a few new features.

The Unicorn has been around for more than two decades. Since then, it has received only minor updates, and this one is no different. Apart from meeting stricter emission norms, the 2025 model of the Unicorn comes with a new LED headlamp, a new digital instrument cluster (which appears to be the same as the one on the Honda CB300F), and a gear position indicator.

Just like the other Honda commuter models updated over the past week, the Unicorn also gets a USB-C charger and is available in five colours. Additionally, the Unicorn sees a price hike of Rs 7,000 owing to the minor updates and compliance with stricter emission norms. The previous model was priced at Rs 1.12 lakh, while the new model costs Rs 1.19 lakh.
