Read in some other site that this launch would be an 125cc scooter called Activa-i,wonder whats that all about.

Honda Activa-i is the cheapest Honda (which already has Activa, Aviator and Dio ) scooter in the country.

The new Honda scooter uses the same air-cooled, 109cc mill as in the Activa and produces 8.15PS @ 7,500rpm and torque figure of 8.74Nm @ 5,500rpm. It also gets almost all the features as in the regular Activa such as Combi Brake System (CBS) which reduces braking distance by 24 per cent compared to conventional brakes, tubeless tyres, maintenance free battery and viscous air filter. The Activa-i claims to deliver 60kmpl thanks to Honda Eco Technology (HET) that the engine employs. Also Read: Honda Activa HET Road Test

The Activa-i boasts an underseat storage capacity of 18-litre, a slightly higher ground clearance of 165mm (compared to the Activa’s 153mm) and tips the scale at 103kg. Also, it uses an ergonomic grab rail that helps in putting the scooter on main stand with 15 per cent less force which should be a boon for women riders. Visually, the new scooter has design influences of the Aviator in front but the new indicators give the scooter a distinct identity. The rear gets an all-new tail lamp and a subtly molded exhaust.

This model looks great but they could have changed the front suspension to telescopic like Aviator

This is just because of the competition. Ready availability,low price & good mileage makes the Ray & pleasure a hit in the sales and Honda is targeting these customers.

I am thinking where they have actually cut the cost, but one thing for sure.. they have found a good way of increasing the sales using the name which is a brand in itself ' Honda Activa'.

Somehow looking at the pics I get a feel that this new version is made thinking women drivers in mind. Not a male based moped any more :(

Yes honda claims with their new HET technology to claim 60kmpl.
Saw this new honda activa news online as well looks phethetic to the current one on sell.

Why does Honda skimp on upgrading the suspension system

I hate riding my Activa on bad road even on Speed Bumps, and most irritating part is front shockers make squeak squeak noise while going on bad road and speed bumps..i hate them

+100, That was the main reason I have not purchased the Honda Activa and with that I have also ignored Wego which has very good front suspension

Now i don't even slow down on speed bumps, just take my Activa off that
