Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has announced an expansion of its previous recall campaign to preventively replace the fuel pump. This time, the recall affects 90,468 units of the Amaze compact sedan, Brio hatchback, BR-V MPV, City midsize sedan, Jazz premium hatchback and the WR-V high-riding hatch, produced from September 2017 to June 2018.

The previous recall campaign to replace the fuel pumps with defective impellers took place in June 2020, and affected 65,651 models. This time, in addition to the 90,468 units affected, the recall also covers 2,204 additional units of the Accord sedan, Amaze, Brio, BR-V, City, Civic executive sedan, Jazz, and WR-V where fuel pumps were replaced as spare parts in the past. As before, the fuel pumps with defective impellers could, over time, result in the engine stopping or not starting.
