Glad to know your car is fine. However, I do not support this-

got off the car got hold the driver gave him few punches
An ACCIDENT is an ACCIDENT, means it is by mistake. The driver of the truck had no enemity towards you and he did not break your car on purpose. Educated people like us should not engage in road rage, lets leave that to the morons.

So, no one should go for fist fights. You were with your family... what would have happened if he would have attacked you or your family with a weapon? Or would you have done the same if it was a Sumo filled with local goons?

That was another accident out of bad temperament, after the vehicle accident.
Fahad would have realized the facts you pointed out later.

I agree with you guys that i should had avoided fisting the person, but its the human nature to get anger. You take precautions to keep things on safe side but it gets damaged due someone else.

He rammed into the car not purposely but out of negligence. But in few cases people loose their families due to some others negligence and reckless driving.

here are the pics of repaired part. Also got new seat covers and changed the horn.

I do not understand the reason of not claiming the insurance. Just for no-claim bonus and selling value ? 20% of the insurance fee is no claim bonus right? That is just for an year ! You get NCB from next year onwards if you do not claim the next year. Suppose a fiesta IDV is 5,00000 after 2nd year, then the insurance NCB you get is 2000Rs or so ? For saving that, you do not get it repaired properly from Authorized service centers ?
Who ever claim the accident, they say - we claimed the insurance as some coconut fell on body and we replaced the whole thing etc. So, just because it claimed insurance means your vehicle value depreciate so much ? If you are not planning to sell the car for 5 years, how much difference will that make ?

Third day of I got the car, some veg cart came and hit my car from side. Bonnet /bumper/carburetor was damaged. The estimate from MASS was around 22K. I claimed the insurance and i had to pay around 1000Rs or so. Next year, I paid 14K instead of may be 12K. Total I lost is 3K instead of 22K. I would have got this repaired from outside for 5K without replacing the bonnet (tinkering etc)/or fixing the bumper with dent removal. But, why should i go for a repair work when i get everything new than repair ? Is there anything more than No claim bonus ? Please throw some light. Tried searching many places and I did not get a convincing answer for this.

Note : I understand if the insurance value of the vehicle is too low(5-6year old vehicle) and you end up paying 10,000 rs even after claiming for a 20K job which can be fixed at 4-5K outside, I may look for that 4-5K option.

Good point of calculation but as of now the work on my vehicle is done this might be helpful for future reference. My vehicle is almost 6 yrs old and it has comprehensive insurance.

@fahad,
I understand doing it from outside in your case. But, I see the posts like 'do not claim or you loose No Claim Bonus' in almost every thread. I wanted to know the logic behind it. May be there could be some serious logic which i do not know. I have even seen the same where the vehicle was brand new.

Anyways, be safe. Do not hit any one next time. Mistakes do happen.

Drive safe

Polish your car and the rear panel that got painted
take it in the sun and see for the color difference.
Black color is hard to match sometimes.

did he use the same paint? The paint codes are under the bonnet of your car on the plate where it has the manufacture info

It is not always that you need to think about no claim bonus, but only when the actual cost of repair is less than the no claim bonus. Suppose if NCB turns out to be 4000 and the repair work costs you just 3000, then there is no point in claiming the insurance, as you will loose the NCB when you pay next year premium.

So here you loose 1000 for no reason. Just simple calculation and saves your money.
