Sorry for late reply. Yes it reduce the mileage. My car ideal rpm with AC is 1000RPM only. Will post you image how to reduce the rpm. But last line of your message doubts me whether its a clutch problem. Does your car emits black smoke heavily? What's your car model?

No.
Do not change the RPM .
If you keep it in 100 to 200 it will get turned off if you try to steer the vehicle (power steering ).
Check your manual for correct speed and stick to it .

I have 2005 Indigo LS TDi, 87000kms. Recently got FICD sensor and potentiometer replaced from Bosch Service, Delhi. I had problems with RPM fluctuations.

whenever i switched on the A.C, Rpm needle fluctuates. For 2-3 seconds 1100 rpm, then 900 rpm. Also A.C didn't work in stop-go traffic.

Now after getting the parts change, i got my rpm tuned at 950RPM without A.C, 1100RPM with A.C.

When you switch ON the AC, do you hear any tick noise inside the cabin during the rpm fluctuate.
