Am from Bathinda (Punjab) and the jeeps from haryana you are talking about is built in workshops placed in a small town called Dabwali(haryana) border of haryana and punjab.

I would suggest you to come to Dabwali with cash in hand and you can get Jeeps readily available or if you can wait/stay for few days in dabwali you get the engine, seats, tryres, alloys etc fitted of your own choice and can negotiate well.

Only few things you need to check:

Wat is the gaze of sheet used for body shell.
Registration documents properly
Engine specifications
Quality of electrical components

And maybe you can if you can get your own engine from outside would be great.

Let me know if you need any help as my city is just 20kms from Dabwali
Thank you my dear kasscon. You have any friends in dabwali ?

jeep clinic as mr. boss posted is a reputed firm.
I cant understand brother.[frustration][frustration][frustration]

Wow, that's the beauty of the forums. Here we have got someone from near the Jeep town to help his brother from 2500 kms away.

This place is well known for their custom Jeep building and I guess is a perfect place for getting a perfectly customised Jeep built without burning a really BIG hole in ones' pocket. Since the possibility of local help is there, so this can be given a try.

Issue: Getting the Jeep to the place and then facing the local authorities because I have heard that the south Indian authorities are strict about not letting the vehicles registered in other states play in theirs for long.
Ya sure TSI..Great website and Greats humans are there..

One more thing rather a question

Why u want this Jeep??

Is it just for passion
Is it gonna be your primary vehicle
What kind of travelling requirements you have from this Jeep

If you can share answers for the questions in detail. I can help you out in right manner.
Dear Kasscon,

*I am a hardcore Jeep lover.

**I already have a Santro Zing GLS 2012.

***In Tamilnadu(especialy in my surrounding) A group of guys doing off road adventure in Weekends.I like to join with the Group.Becoz i want 4x4 Jeep.Accidently i saw in olx.com,The Dabawali people post some ads on Coimbatore(in tamilnadu). So i call that person,He says Jeep is in Dabwali Haryana...In my place the Jeep mechanics are Man eaters. They drain my friend's packet.so i decided to buy a jeep in decent condition.

Re: Brothers Help Needed on Jeeps from Haryana

Ok. I asked you these questions bcoz these jeeps specially the pic u posted are just meant for fun purpose and are best for second car as the dynamics(read handling, niggles not as good as cars made by oem) are not that great.

When it comes to right jeep I would suggest you to get an old Thar and get it modified from dabwali or get engine and gearbox of your own and rest get it done by dabwali guys.

Am telling you this by my own experience as my friend use to own them however the reliability of the engines/mechanicals and the refinement is not that great.

Dabwali guys are really good for chasis, body work but not that great with rest. However they are giving you best at what they are charging. Let me know if you need any clarification.

Choose your option.

hello bro

gone through your post, well one of man said true

Jeeps are not brought, but built.

I know best are built in panjab, but now you can get fair deal in nearby places too.
But my suggestion will follow the one who said to visit it personally, and have it done.

I would have said YES for that jeep, but at the end i seen that you wanna use it for offroading! and that its like OHHH GOD why this?

yeah definately it can but not to the extreme.

JEEPS ARE BUILT NOT BROUGHT.

REMEMBER THAT FOREVER- I MEAN REAL JEEPS.

sorry to say bro, but seating at home and ordering will never make it perfect.

You need to work on it. work on the plan, for what you gonna use it. which terrain you wanna TAKE ON with it. accordingly u need to list down.

You need to go there personally stay a while may be couple week. and get the work started, which heart - ENGINE which GEARBOX (KMT, ngt, BA) which TRANSFER-CASE which DIFFERENTIAL RATIOs, poweer steering or worn and roller. Composit springs or normal - depending on articulation. LIST GOES ONN! [evil]

and yeah not to forget underbody and chassis ANTI-RUST coating.

this is how JEEPS are built.

hope you gets the idea.
