Hawk on four's on a travel: Bangalore-Mercara(Coorg)-Mangalore-Goa!

I am back with a travelogue to Goa with pitstops to different places in between.
This was done the previous week on 18th July 10.
With a sharp deadline of a week's holiday of my family.
Had to plan the Goa trip with max coverage within shortspan.

Route followed was: Bangalore-Mysore-Coorg(Madikeri/Mercara)-Mangalore-Karkala-Udupi-Manipal-Kundapur-Kollur-Karwar-Goa

Day 1:
The first day took the mysore route, followed the above route upto Mangalore.
On the way before coorg , visited a Tibetian monastery near Byalukuppe.It was a golden temple with monks all over the place.
Its a worth visiting place.
After this visit halted at my home town Mangalore.

Nice travelogue! Glad to have you back. No wonder I didn't see too many of your posts for a couple of days. Are you the gentlemen with the dark grey shirt in front of the golden temple?

I have many fond memories of Mysore, where I used to live until recently, as well as Hassan/Bylakuppe and Coorg.

A few more closeups.

The idols are made of relics, which is made of copper along with gold.
The people there still don't have their nationality, but they are getting enough help from the Govt of India.
They speak kannada as well, But you can't recognise who's who in them.
And the best part is no restrictions there & one can move freely clicking pics.

And those yippee ice creams in Mangalore Ideal Ice creams.

Vibhor this weather & road conditons is from Mysore-Mangalore.
The bad roads were from Mangalore-Goa.
A must visit place for ice creams in Mangalore is Ideal Ice creams.
My favourite delicacies : Gud-Bud , Parafait

Nice pictures Mukesh! And again i have been to the Mysore-Mangalore highway before! Excellent road but i find the speed breakers in that road in between to be annoying!
