Hello guys this was the trip done on 10th of this month.

Route followed: BLR-Mysore-Gundlupet-HG Hills.

The drive from mysore was 88 kms to this place, nice scenic place.

We left from Mysore from our relatives place at 6.30 am.

Had a stop at Gundlupet at Udupi Upahar, then we went to the hills.
As it was Saturday on the day we visited there was mad rush of cars at the ticket issuing counter.

Plastic is strictly not allowed at this place, checking usually takes place.
But on that day the officer was so busy that he left us without checking the vehicle.

Toll of 50 Rs is taken from each vehicle.

Time restriction of 1 hours is appliable from the time of entry.

Roads are literally not there & narrow.
Even hawk's turbo was refusing to pull the car due to low oxygen content.
Other cars were struggling to move on turnings, and they were letting me go forward.
I ensured that vehicle moved by the turbo pull.

More to come..........

very beautiful place to visit. i had visited this place about 3 years ago, at that time there was no entry fees. there was cold wind blowing & suddenly the whole area was covered by mist. the roads to the hill was potholed and there were lots of cattle on the road. in fact on returning the vehicle (toyota qualis ) sides were literaly covered with cowdung.

Excellent pictures Mukesh[thumbsup].

I am sure you must have enjoyed each broken stretch with your beast.

Oh, by any chance, were the Red Dzire and Ikon in your convoy? How did they perform on ghats?

Hey nice pics Mukesh, Yes this is one super place to visit to experience the feeling of being amongst the clouds ! They say its a heaven for photographers. Have to say you have visited at the right time of the day. Early morning is the best time to visit. Did you notice the dew drops falling on Krishna idol inside the temple?

I had been to this place in 2008 and ya there was no entry fee and roads were in much better condition! I visited on a week day, so the place was much calmer and serene...

Yes Akash i enjoyed every bit of driving on this stretch, the 2 cars were struggling on curves, i honked them as neither they were going and nor leaving, then on a turn both cars let me forward.
Then i ensured that hawk moved by turbo pull on 2nd gear.

To mention there were 8 members in hawk, another car of my cousin was Xing 5 members.

Yes buddy, the purohit there explained why its called as Himad(Fog) Gopalswamy(Lord Krishna).
The temple of lord krishna has few dew falling inside the temple.
And its said the King of Mysore used to visit this place in Summer, and the temple was built under his reign.

Its said that one can see cheetah if they visit early morning.
But sadly we couldn't see any animals on this stretch.

The range officer their said that early morning drive on ghats disturbs the animals.
So they have changed the timings of 6am - 6pm to 8am -6 pm.

And they ensure that no one stays on the hill after 6 pm.
So this place has time restriction.

The time limit of 1 Hr is at the top? or from somewhere down below?

Nice travel pics. TFS

You seem to be crunching a lot of miles these days, Mukesh. Nice one. Did you stop over, at the CCD just before you take a right to this place?

OT : I think September or October is the ideal time to visit this place, as its mostly covered with mist and the cold breeze with a little drizzle, makes it a wonderful experience.

Yes Avindu, this is the time i can go as i finished my Engg, and i will have to visit all the places my family wishes to visit.
As we were in mysore thought of this place

No i didn't stop at CCD, but had stopped at HP bunk besides CCD for fuelling the hawk.

Before that at Gundlupet had stopped at Udupi Upahar.
Yes the stretch which leads to ooty, one has to take right near the arch.
