Telangana has announced a complete exemption on the road tax and registration fees upon the purchase of an electric passenger or commercial vehicle. This scheme will be valid till December 31, 2026.
The Government of Gujarat has reduced the road tax on EVs from 6% to 1% until March 31, 2026. The customers can avail this tax benefit by registering their electric vehicle on Vahan Portal.
Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy 2025 (effective until March 31, 2030) provides subsidies upto 10% of the passenger vehicle’s base cost and upto 15% for goods carriers and larger passenger vehicles.
The EVs registered under this policy will also be exempted from motor vehicle tax and registration or renewal fees.
Four-wheeler passenger EVs and electric buses operating on key expressways will also be exempt from the toll fees.
Furthermore, 50% toll concession is available for other national and state highways managed by the Public Works Department.
The Government is also setting up charging stations at 25 km intervals along the state and national highways.
