You can reach Halageri taking left just after Harihar bypass and 500 meters before Chalageri toll. The road condition is good and it is about 14 KM. Advantage is you can save INR100 toll. But it is unavoidable if you are suppose to reach Ranebennur town.

Will be on a four day trip to Kanyakumari and Rameshwarm from 28th evening till31 March,will be starting from Davengere Karnataka overnight halt at krishnagiri,start early morning hoping to reach kaynakumari in the evening.Next day a trip to Rameshwarm and back.Next day at Kanyakumari,and return back to Davengere ,any advice on road conditions,and restaurants on the way .... awaiting...

Reached Kanyakumari at 4pm after leaving Bangalore at 6.15 am,the ride was excellent, weather super hot, traffic was mess till Salem, thereafter thinned out and the pace picked up,roads are excellent,but should always be on a look out for surprises on the road for our safety at least.

An average of 80+ kms is good (assuming a break of 1 hr combined). Typical of this highway. I had started at ~4am & reach Kanyakumari by 1+ pm. Expected weather at this juncture. How did the A/c perform? Too early to ask for mileage? Post Namakkal, didn't you encounter truck traffic at least till Karur? Hope you spent sometime nearby windfarms for photo sessions! Did you use Fastag, was it working all the while?

Started from home at 5.30 pm reached Bangalore at 10.45 pm,after overnight stay left at 6.15 am reached Kanyakumari approximately at 4.15, cannot recollect exactly,the above timing included breakfast and lunch.
Left Kanyakumari at 12'o clock in the afternoon reached Rameshwarm at 4.30 pm,
Left Rameshwarm at 6.30pm reached Madhurai at 11pm halt.
The last day journey started at 11.30 am from Madhurai reached home at 10.45pm
Total distance 2150 kms

The following snaps are taken on the road from Bangalore to Kanyakumari,the weather was super hot but the AC worked very well,which made the journey a comfortable one, The breakfast we had was a new restaurant ,just after Bangalore,New Sarvana Bhavan which on the left side of the highway the service was quick,the snaps were taken by my wife on the go.

Few more snaps of the highway,the road is excellent,curvey and I enjoyed driving my Whitee on this highway,have to always on the lookout for surprises like dogs coming across,two wheelers on the wrong side of the road, without warning taking a turn...., the list goes on.

A photo log of a short one day visit to mullayangiri,bababudangiri,and datta pithaa,the odometer reading at the end of the day was 296km, they are situated in the westernghats mullayangiri is the highest mountain in Karnataka,situated in Chickmagalur district.
