Hi Akash! Better late than never. I though I'd scribble a few lines here of my gaadi.
As of today I have clocked 62000Km and every bit of it has been enjoyable and the car still pack a punch like day 1.

The car was 'serviced' regularly at the Authorized center religiously till I clocked 40K km and then I get the Oil/Filters (Air/oil and Fuel) changed at my buddy's workshop.

These new cars do not need any other changes except for oil and filters and you are golden.

Air and fuel filters I pick up from my pal at Arrowhead air filters which did make a noticeable difference in the way the engine breathes and I'm pretty sure my fuel efficiency improved by 10% but again so did the cost of fuel so back to square on in a way you see ;)

So no complaints with efficiency that averages around 13km/L with AC on and my driving is in mid city traffic. Daily drive is 50KM.

Highway occasional trips to Bangalore I get around 17km/l.

Repairs/Wear and tear.

1. Changed all Tires to Yoko A drives at 40K and am very much satisfied with the recommended upsize 185/65/R14
2. Had trouble with Power steering oil leaks a few months ago and when spoke to Hyundai ASC, was told to replace the rack estimated cost was Rs.47K

- Took matter in my own hands - All parts mechanical can be repaired and Service centers just replace it for peace of mind. I suspected a blown seal in the rack and got it checked before I commit for full replacement.

- Figured out the problem was with the Tie-rod ends and the lower arms that were battered and put stress on the rack letting it bleed oil.

- Replaced the strut mounts, tie-rod ends and lower arms and zero oil leakage and stability was back to normal.

Paint and Detail

A black car is tough to maintian. Period.
I spent a lot of time mid last year on detailing and learnt a lot of it. I did have a regular regime of getting the car waxed every 3 months to keep it in shape.

Equipped with detailing gyaan from the internet watching and reading tons of information, I bought quite a lot of premium detailing products and seeing is believing.

Of-course spending so much time and efforts on a car is bound to attract flak from the wife ;) But again - Nothing like a shiny black car.

A few pics that I shot very recently. Not bad for an almost 4 year old car with 62K on the clock and detailed on my own huh ?

After a whole day's detailing effort

Wow, your car looks cool. Mirror finish !!
Do post the details of the products used for detailing.

Parting ?? Could not understand.
Thanks Varun. I meant parting from the report. I followed the following steps.

1. Meguiars NXT Wash
2. Meguiars ultimate polish to clear up the Swirls. I used a Rotary buffer with cutting wool pad.
3. Finished it off with a Meguiars NXT 2.0 tech Wax.

All plastics were taped off with low tack masking tape.

Hey Avi !!

Kudos to your maintenance man, it really looks like a showroom piece from the pics. I didn't had too much time to look at it when we met last time. Hope I do look into that in our next meet[:)]

That is a well maintained car. A true car lover. [:)]
Thanks guys. Here's a shot of my Fiesta after half a day's work. Again this is also about 4 years old. May sound OT but hey this is my thread ;)
Apologies the tires look a bit over done as I had just sprayed them before taking a shot.

Read you getz report just now for the first time.
Must say your writeup is impressive.
How do you rate the handling of the getz?
This question since hyundais are generally not known for their handling.

RK - I'll make it easier. Lets go for a drive and I can pull the trigger of my 110BHP. I'm sure you would write it on behalf of me. ;)

The heart of the Getz diesel is an inline 1.5L DOHC equipped with a VGT that delivers 110BHP and 240+NM of torque.

The Getz CRDI delivers RAW power and the torque is insanely addictive. This car can put to shame a lot of other bigger cars and on the highways is a breeze to drive. I cruise at 100KMph in 5th Gear at 2000RMP. Being sais, the top speed I have touched is 170KMPH

Turbo kicks in at 1800RMP and the power surge is just too much and too addictive. Overtaking cannot get easier than this.

Coming to ride quality its suspension is tuned for comfort so handling is pretty good as long as one does not go crazy in city streets pulling off stunts. Being said, I would have preferred a slightly stiffer suspension but I can happily live with what is offered.

Safety aspects is what is a let down as it does not come equipped with ABS or Airbags. For a power-mill like this ABS would have been nice but again one gets used to the brakes in due time.

Initial stock tires are pathetic and the car does not seem grounded but an upsize make a great difference and car does feel planted at high speeds too.

I have driven all other diesels and the only other diesel that put a smile on my face was the Cruze !

Amazing write-up. We have Getz Petrol version, crossed 6yrs last month, and i still enjoy driving it every time am behind the wheels. Its a power beast. I would rate it above my Brio, anyday.

And your's being a Diesel mill, should be out of the box to drive. So much power and torque.

I'm pretty sure, you would have been loving every bit of this beauty.

TC & [drive] safe.

Absolutely out of the heart and rightly said, to get that smile after driving this pocket rocket we say of a friends getz crdi, cruze that is.
congratulations on your getz mate, sorry for late wishes.
You have maintainted superbly all your cars, shows the passion you have.
Did you changed the brake pads to differ size,as have heard many guarage owners saying this for this mill,it betters the braking much more, though dont have exact details of brakes but will share with you in some days time.
European looks and a premium hatchback where that time it was not accepted by the pricing mainly as in that price was a sedan category.
