Re: Getting a Second Hand car within 2L maximum

OK,Yeah, planning to get the same.Wagon R or something with more roof height.:)
Finally, had to settle with an Alto,Found an Alto At Maruti True Value today!

2008 Model Alto Lxi
44000KMS
Quoted 2.05 Lakh.

Checked the car thoroughly,ac working fine,no signs of accidents or repainting,no oils leaks from engine, gears fine, smooth engine, wiper working, water pump working, battery working fine, seat covers are in bad condition,it needs replacement, accelerator pedals look fine, can see wear according to the kms ran, dash, then tires,it needs replacement, the guy said its new tires, but i don't think so,its running on some MRF on rear and some Kenny on front, didn't even heard of it till now.Overall its good and the price is bit high, but when comparing the price of cars in my city,it seems to be OK.

Also there is water in left headlight, the guy agreed to replace it with new one for free and the car covers 1 year warranty on car except tires and clutch plates.

Here is a pic of the car.

Good deal.Is it from Individual or dealer?

seat covers are in bad condition,it needs replacement,
Better for art-leather seat covers or a decent white towel.

then tires,it needs replacement, the guy said its new tires, but i don't think so,its running on some MRF on rear and some Kenny on front, didn't even heard of it till now.
Better change to MRF only.If budget permits change all the four tyres.

Overall its good and the price is bit high, but when comparing the price of cars in my city,it seems to be OK.
The price is good for a 44k run alto.

Also there is water in left headlight, the guy agreed to replace it with new one for free and the car covers 1 year warranty on car except tires and clutch plates.
Ask that ASAP

Here is a pic of the car.
The car looks great but i have to confirm something on the paint quality between the hood and side body(maybe reflection) Can you please add some more pics?

As these are from artificial leather the price shouldn't exceed 3k

Planning to get Michelin XM1+ 145/80-12. Here its 3000RS per Tire.
3000 is a bit high for 12 inches, why don't you try for bridgestone instead?

Its quite good deal Aneesh. I happen to see the thread late. It was good that you avoided the 2006 model. My 2005 Alto with 75K on Odo was quoted at 1.05L by True Value, Trivandrum . These guys are making quite a lot profit from this. But, as far as you are concerned , you got the warranty. So, no further worries. I suggest you go for the Bridgestone, which costs 2800 , i believe. From my personal experience, the Bridgestone will last upto 35000+ kms.

Yeah,2006 model seems to be too old.

Yes,The Warranty,Thats why i am ready to pay this amount.IS the warranty effective as that of a new car? or is it just a saying?

I suggest you go for the Bridgestone, which costs 2800 , i believe. From my personal experience, the Bridgestone will last upto 35000+ kms.
So which one is better? Michelin XM1+ or Bridgestone Turanza ER-60? What about dry and wet grip? noise?

The bridgestone in our Versa lasted for 45k kms and it was a work horse everytime.

Bridgestone Turanza is better than Michelin why? Michelin are good when it runs on flat road considitons, the side walls are weak in Michelin hence not appropriate for running in hill stations.

What about dry and wet grip? noise?
There wouldn't be too much of problems.

Is this available at MASS?
Yes it would be available but their pricing is a bit high anyway esquire about prices,if its for 3k then no problem go ahead else try fitting it with local accessory shops,Anyway its an used one why to spend more? better to go with lower priced ones.

I don't know about the Michelin. But, from what i heard from City and Jazz owners , the Michelin tires have low noise and are for better FE. Don't know further. But, with Bridgestone, i can guarantee you that it will last longer and don't go for other brands and MRF sucks. Maybe Michelin's are better . Only one who has used Michelin can help you. What is the tyre dealer recommending ?
