Buddies,
Today we had a great opportunity to experience the reality of 'Cost Of Ownership and Service' of Ford Cars by attending a meet with Mr. N. Prabhu (VP Customer Service Operations) at the Technical Training Center of Ford India in Manesar, Haryana. For me personally, it was an interesting meet since I got to see the actual spares (along with their costs) that are used in the Ford Cars and gained a healthy amount of technical knowledge with respect to Ford Cars. In the meeting today, one thing I realized and that was, "Perceptions often push us to make a faulty image forever". In a lucrative and growing market like India, I firmly believe no brand is going to like being labelled as 'expensive to maintain' or 'unreliable in long run. ' With time, the perceptions definitely need to change and should change for the better. At the meet today, Mr. Prabhu clarified upon various queries which often cloud the minds of new buyers and owners alike and after listening to him and actually seeing the cost of spares and the cost of services of Ford Cars I feel, the perception of Ford being very expensive to maintain needs to change very fast.
