Re: Ford Aspire Facelift Launching on 04th October

DCT will suffer similarly to DSG in our traffic, better to mate the F15 gearbox on Ecosport to the Diesel Engine. It handles ecoboost engine in Export markets, which does produce 200nm torque in over boost mode, so should be able to handle the 1.5D engine.

AMT's are always a pain to drive.
I'm trying to find a suitable replacement for my first gen Figo. I have checked out Freestyle and Amaze , not completely convinced due to odd interior color option in Freestyle and still noisy Diesel engine in Amaze. Unless Aspire comes with unique differentiator like Diesel conventional automatic or 1.2 Petrol with automatic options , i'm afraid it cannot withstand the competition

Even though I love Ford cars , i'm willing to wait for Hyundai Carlino or Mahindra XUV300 before deciding on Aspire. With new release from other manufacturer's during festive season , Aspire has a uphill battle ahead

I like this colour , could have gone for it , if it was available last year. Decent touchscreen and all that , but Ford could have gone a few more steps on this one. LED tail lights and DRL would not have cost Ford too much but made the package much attractive. I mean these are now pretty standard features in this segment.

Re: Ford Aspire Facelift Launching on 04th October

I think after Maruti has upped the game, its time Ford mates its F15 TC gearbox with its 1,5 TDCI gearbox and launch, many people who many kilometers per day are looking for reliable Diesel automatic as well. Both Petrol and Diesel Automatics from Lower to Higher variants are required for the Figo Twins, Freestyle and Ecosport to do well against the Maruti, Hyundai's, Honda and Tata's. Many in the Urban market with traffic levels depending on Kilometers driven are looking for compact Automatics.

Ford Figo sedan facelift safety rating increases from 0 star to 3 star – Video

All new Ford Figo hatchback and sedan are on sale in many markets across the globe. One such market is Brazil. Last year, Latin NCAP shocked automotive world when they revealed that the new Ford Figo sedan had scored a 0 star safety rating. Now, Ford has sponsored one more crash test, this time of the latest 2018 variant, and the car has scored a 3 star safety rating.

Latin NCAP says, “The Ford Ka, which is produced in Brazil, was tested in 2017 with a disappointing zero star rating for adult occupant protection due to the poor side impact performance. Ford decided to improve the side impact protection of the KA and to sponsor a new assessment of the model in 2018.” Alejandro Furas, Secretary General of Latin NCAP said: “It is encouraging to find more compact models like the Ka being improved; however its basic safety performance is still below the European version.”

India is all set to get the updated Ford Figo sedan on 4th October. Here, the car will be christened Aspire. Already spied at dealerships, where bookings are open. 2018 Ford Aspire Facelift shares many of its features with 2018 Ford Ka+ hatchback that was launched in Europe. Exteriors have been upgraded to include chrome surrounds for the front grille, new multi-spoke alloys, and stylized front and rear bumpers. The fog lamp unit gets a new C-shaped chrome surround, which gives the car a sporty, grinning face.

Interiors have been upgraded with a new 6.5-inch, SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system. With many features now accessible with a tap on the touchscreen, various controls and buttons have been discontinued. This has effectively de-cluttered the dashboard, making it look trendy and futuristic. Another useful addition is the push start-stop button that’s located near the instrument cluster. Interiors continue to sport the dual-tone beige & black colour theme as earlier.

Under the hood, Ford Aspire Facelift has a new Dragon Series 1.2-litre, three-cylinder unit that replaces the existing 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine. New engine delivers max power of 95 hp and max torque of 120 Nm. Transmission has also been upgraded with a new 5-speed manual unit sourced from Getrag.

Upgraded transmission is lighter, as compared to the existing IB5 unit. Customers can also choose to opt for a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Diesel variant will continue to use the same 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 100 PS max power and 215 Nm max torque. The diesel engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Re: Ford Aspire Facelift Launching on 04th October

India-spec Ford Aspire 2018 sedan officially revealed – Bookings open for Rs 11k

Following launch of 2018 Ford Aspire facelift in South Africa and Brazil, the sedan now heads to India. Set to come in as a sub 4m sedan, the Ford Aspire has now been revealed officially ahead of launch. “The New Ford Aspire has been tailor-made for those who don’t follow the crowds, desire beyond the ordinary and want more out of their car experience. They are driven by a desire to lead and make their own mark,” said Rahul Gautam, vice president – Marketing at Ford India.

Exteriors of 2018 Ford Aspire was noted with horizontal chrome slats, a new headlamp design, 15” multi spoke alloy wheels and wider tyres. Interiors are seen in a black and beige color scheme, leather upholstery on top spec variants and a host of new safety features. Bookings are now open across India. You can book yours at Rs 11,000.

One notable change on the interiors of the 2018 Ford Aspire Titanium+ trim with automatic transmission is that it is equipped with a FLY audio system instead of the SYNC3 infotainment unit. This FLY unit includes FM music player with AUX-In, Bluetooth, Media playback from USB and Offline maps by MapMyIndia. It also sports a rear view camera with dynamic guidelines and telephone controls. However, unlike the SYNC3 unit, FLY infotainment unit misses out features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay besides voice command facilities.

With the new FLY infotainment system, the new Ford Aspire Titanium gets a clearer dashboard thanks to the removal of controls and buttons from its central console. The dashboard receives a push start stop button near the instrument console and continues with its black and beige color scheme as is seen in the rest of the cabin.

2018 Ford Aspire sedan will come in powered by a 1.2 liter, 3 cylinder engine from the Dragon series. This engine offers 95 hp power and 120 Nm torque mated to a new generation 5 speed manual gearbox or an optional 6 speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.5 liter turbodiesel engine offers 100 PS power and 215 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.

In terms of sales, Ford Aspire is having a hard time catching up with segment leaders such as Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze. Between March and August 2018, Ford Aspire averaged monthly sales of 1,083 units. In comparison, Maruti Dzire averaged monthly sales of 24,099 units and Honda Amaze 9,679 units. Ford is hopeful that 2018 Aspire Facelift will be able to change that trend this festive season.

Scheduled for launch on October 4, Ford Figo Aspire Facelift was recently spotted in ‘White Gold’ and ‘Ruby Red’ colour options. The new colours look quite cool on the upgraded sedan and enhance its overall appeal and styling. Below is the photo gallery of new Aspire sedan.

Re: Ford Aspire Facelift Launching on 04th October

I think this is a poor strategy from Ford, while the 1.2 Engine is good, selling the automatic with the 1.5P engine will make it expensive. All this while the competition is selling automatics across the range. This will limit its numbers as many looking for a 2nd car are looking for an automatic with limited budget.Cant see this crossing a few thousands for the Figo Twins.

Re: Ford Aspire Facelift Launching on 04th October

Though Ford Freestyle is an initial success due to its VFM preposition, I'm failed to understand what Ford product strategy team was thinking while they were revising Aspire? I guess they have overlooked the competition. Old school antenna, no DRLs, no bottle holder on rear doors, no cruise control and most probably no automatic in diesel will going to hurt the sales of this great product. It will be interesting to see what Ford will offer on Aspire as a segment first.

Re: Ford Aspire Facelift Launching on 04th October

Something is really wrong with Ford India guys, if you are going to sell the 1.5AT then why not sell the international variant manufactured at the same plant with a length of 4.25 meters, it should cost hardly anything extra to manufacture. At least then it will have a chance as it has to priced much higher than Dzire and Amaze Petrol automatics due to tax of 1.5 engine, might as well sell it with the bigger boot.

NEW DELHI, India, Oct. 4, 2018: Ford India today introduced its compact sedan - New Ford Aspire - at a compelling introductory price starting from INR 555,000.

Combining Power, Style & Substance, the New Ford Aspire is a fresh take on compact sedans with many segment-best technologies, best-in-class safety, fun-to-drive DNA, and unmatched cost of ownership.

Drivers will experience slicker, more responsive gear shifts when they behind the wheel.

Offering greater power of choice, Ford is also introducing its latest six-speed Automatic Transmission on the New Ford Aspire. Paired to the latest 1.5L Petrol, three-cylinder engine, the Automatic New Ford Aspire delivers a peak power of 123 PS. All three engines will be the most powerful in their respective categories.

Styled to Win Hearts, Command Attention

The compact, sub-4-meter design in the New Ford Aspire has been smartly executed to ensure it looks proportionate from every angle.

Redesigned front fascia features a dynamic three-dimensional cellular grille. This makes the car not just stand apart but leave a mark. New fog lamps are encrusted in a premium chrome surrounding and harmoniously integrated into the front bumper. Headlamps in the New Ford Aspire feature a black encasing that looks sporty yet premium. Similarly, new design tail lamps accentuate its formidable stance on the road.

New Ford Aspire also features premium alloys and bigger 15-inch tyres to deliver confidence and planted drive dynamics.

The cabin in the New Ford Aspire features warm, beige interiors, adding to the premium-ness and the enhanced sense of space. The seats have better support to make every journey comfortable, including a central armrest with two integrated cup or bottle holders in the rear.

The cabin is replete with convenience features including a reverse parking camera, best-in-class automatic climate control system, two USB slots, push-button start/stop, electrochromic IRVM, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps among many others.

Substantial Value, Safety & Connectivity

New Ford Aspire is a substantial package, offering a host of innovations to keep its owners, informed, entertained and safe at all times.

The compact sedan will continue Ford’s leadership on safety, offering standard dual airbags across the variant line-up. For those looking for greater safety, it will offer up to six airbags on top Titanium+ trim.

Going beyond airbags, Ford Aspire will offer several features to enhance occupant safety such as Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), helping drivers better grip, while keeping the drive smooth.

The New Ford Aspire will enable its owners to navigate quick turns and bends with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS). Also in Automatic Transmission, the Hill-Launch Assist feature will ensure greater control on inclines.

The New Ford Aspire features Ford’s in-car infotainment system, SYNC 3 with a 6.5-inch touchscreen which allows drivers to control their entertainment and connected smartphone using voice commands.

SYNC 3 system is Apple CarPlay & Android Auto compatible and will allow drivers to use navigation through their Apple CarPlay or Android Auto paired phones. The SYNC 3 system will also offer Emergency Assistance, a potentially lifesaving technology that automatically calls emergency services from a paired phone in case of an accident.

Ensuring complete peace-of-mind, the New Ford Aspire is the only compact sedan in India to come with a first-in-class five-year or 100,000 KM warranty, which includes 2-year factory warranty and 3-year extended warranty.

Alongside, the New Ford Aspire will continue to offer lowest scheduled service and maintenance costs in its segment - at just 38 paise per kilometre for petrol and 46 paise per kilometre for diesel over 100,000 KM.

The 5-year warranty on offer with the New Ford Aspire reinforces our commitment of treating customers like family & ensures complete peace-of-mind through the ownership cycle,” said Vinay Raina, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India. “I am sure customers will be delighted to see the exceptional value on offer with our newest product offering.”

Re: Ford Aspire Facelift Launching on 04th October

Thanks Akash for the news. Did Ford drop Figo from Aspire? I hope they did. Aspire looks promising, however, they should have introduced a diesel automatic. Don't know how tough it was for Ford to do that. Having said that, it will be interesting to see how Aspire does in coming months. I guess the sales will be mediocre to ~2000-3000 units per month with Amaze and Dzire in the competition.
Ford: If you haven't yet, start working on Diesel Automatic and Trend model of Petrol Automatic, if you really want to be in the competition. You can use these technologies in Freestyle and Figo as well. So cost will be distributed.
