Rubbing compound will make it look better. But anyways filling, sanding and painting will required for proper job.

Re: Finally I Bought a Car, Nope its an SUV, the 'New Generation Mahindra Scorpio S10

Some minor issues I have observed & had to be checked at the 40K service.
1. Right rear window button broke. Unpredictable behavior (even when operated from driver's door panel).
2. One of the benches (2nd/3rd row) has started making noises when taken on speedbreakers / potholes slowly.
3. The dashboard panel backlights are always on. Usually they are on only when I switch on lights/parking lights.
4. TPMS re-learning not done properly. Console unable read sensors from the left front / rear tyres. Hence TPMS warning lights are on.
5. Not sure why, the 4WD High Light is always ON as well. Mine is a 2WD! The service centre folks (Kirumambakkam, near Pondicherry) did some screw ups probably.
Update on the beast. 40K kms servicing done. My mistake went on a month-end (30th April, Mon). Was left dissatisfied with the output. I did highlight all the issues above.
1. Didn't solve it. And the front door panel switches have also become loose now. Unpredictable behavior. Have to take the beast again to the service centre.
2. Solved. As usual, seat holders. Rolled up tapes & sounds gone.
3. Solved.
4. TPMS relearning done. Have to test on a highway.
5. Solved. (3) & (5) were wrong wiring connections.

Apart from that
6. I had wanted a cap for the right skirack. Stock unavailable.
7. Front left illuminated scuff plate kaput. No spare stock.
8. Jerk between 1st & 2nd gear. I thought I was getting used to the new clutch (replaced in Nov/Dec during the accident). Resolved. Couldn't meet the technician (at 730pm when taking delivery), will check later & update.

Totally dissatisfied with Chrome Motors for giving back the vehicle with grease everywhere! Had to spend an hour cleaning every inch, the next day. Terrible attitude, first bad experience. All previous experiences have been good. At 6pm in the evening, 8 vehicles were queued for washing. So a bad job, may be due to monthly billing rush I guess. Lesson learnt.

Total cost was 8K.

P.S. The paint work (for the scratches) have to be done for the entire front bumper + left fender is quoted at 6.5K + taxes. Haven't decided on this yet.

Odo is at 44K kms. It is 2 years and 9 months of ownership.

Got the paint work done. Got some Vitamin M to splash around! As well as the following in an intermediate visit to the Service Centre.
1. Paint work. 6.3K + taxes
2. Rear right lights replaced. 2.4K + taxes.
3. Replaced rear right door button (for lowering the glass) under warranty (extended warranty). Gone case. The seal / spring broken. Front right buttons are almost going off as well (controlling right front & rear windows). For the next visit, as parts aren't available readily.

Otherwise, all is well.

The type of roads that the beast was driven (in the last trip) in a place called Thuthoormattam (near Ooty), with 7 people & fully loaded with luggage. And the car climbed an incline without flinching.
