@ Vijay Thank you bro. Yes even i like Fortuner in that color only but only thing is that color can be a problem in night driving! Thats why dad is preferring silver.

@ AMG and Sriharsha When there is a 3.0L engine available i don want to compromise and choose the 2.4L engine. And again Ford's maintenance is known to be costly and atleast i am not ready to take the car to the workshop frequently and pay huge bills! And C mon guys Fortuner is a great car except that its over-priced! Even my Verna is over-priced and i don mind paying that premium for getting that performance!

are you talking about the endy? it comes with 3.0 L & 2.5 L engine.
Nope.

It comes with a 3.0 Litre and 2.4 Litre engine.
in various thread, repeatedly i am asking you the same thing- to get you facts right.

the endy has a 3.0 & 2.5 ltr engine, not a 2.4 ltr engine, look here.

Its bad that you are again & again posting wrong info & debating very confidently on the same.

even here you did the same-

4X4 endy = auto only
4X2 endy = manual only [frustration]
3.0 L 4x2 Endy is available in automatic. look here.

Please do not post wrong info. Dont tell me ACI or Overdrive says this!

Junior Touareg comes close to 64lakhs OTR here , its more than double our budget!

Some updates , I somehow convinced my dad for Captiva. But when i enquired to Surendar about his Captiva he said he is facing lots of problems with his Captiva! So Captiva is totally ruled out now!

My dad slightly inclined towards the Aria but i surely wont allow him to buy another TATA car for atleast the next 5 years! I don like the looks of Aria and moreover their A.S.S is still very poor( I will again update some recent incidents about my safari's service).

So the race is between Santa-Fe and Fortuner now! Waiting for the official release of Santa-Fe here to take a TD and decide finally.

Again some twists and turns in our purchase! Some updates:

1.Recently did a TD of Captiva! Has got a gem of an engine , turbo lag is very minimum and once when the turbo kicks in it can put even many petrol sedans to shame! Imagine the same engine in a much lighter car Cruze then!! Noise inside the cabin was minimal and the interiors also looked good but not great. But still Chevrolet's A.S.S was a big question mark!

2. I loved the specs and interiors of Santa-Fe! But is the costliest of all the cars i have considered , so dad is ruling this out! But still i really liked the Santa-Fe and Hyundai's A.S.S is great in Chennai!

3. Finally after seeing the feature list and impressive price tag of Aria my dad is finally looking at Aria now! Will do a TD next week before deciding it. If i find any typical TATA rattles and squeaks and sluggish engine i will never allow dad to buy ARIA! But if the Aria is indeed a huge improvement over our Safari then my dad will surely go in for Aria!

Now the only confusion is the color! I liked white Aria but dad is saying no since most of the white SUV'S are now owned by politicians. Dad's next choice is silver. I still have not seen Aria in silver!

I still cannot believe we are buying another TATA again![frustration] You members know how much troubles i faced with our Safari. When i argue with my dad about the same he tells" But still our Safari was good enough for the first three years , only this year we have been facing all sorts of troubles , so we will sell the car in 3 years!" He adds further a Hyundai(read Santa-Fe) can never withstand all the abuse which our Safari has been undergoing and will fall apart in a year! He adds TATA vehicles( read Sierra and Safari) has never let us down stranded in highways even once , can a Hyundai be the same! I wanted to sell my Verna and go in for a C+segment sedan but after my dad's accusations of Hyundai's reliability i really never want to sell my Verna and want to rack up many miles in it and prove Hyundai's reliability to my dad![evil]

But still i never want a TATA again our family and its me who has to undergo all those tortures from the workshop! I will only have to regularly monitor the vehicle's service!

Its going to be Santa-Fe Vs Aria now but i think the Aria will win comfortably especially as its much cheaper! But Aria only if TATA has improved overall! Going for TD mostly on Monday.

Your dad is correct in many aspect.

tata never let you down in driving. it rattle and squeaks , but the tata ass cant solve them , but we can solve them.

In you case , some parts were changed unnecessary by the tata service people , the car didn't give you any trouble , fault is the cause was not found correctly.

tata cars now a days develop lot of rusting very soon - can be correct , suspension are bit lower compared to its class competitor but designed to take max abuse , compared to other cars . Hyundai cars could not take that much abuse . Compare santro and indica petrol /diesel else a verna and indigo.

In any case tata is not so soft but replacement time is higher , but will not be so soft as Hyundai. Just for a comparo i have take Hyundai with tata

And now a days tat are improving , hmm stealing some techniques from fiat , and expect some jaguar feature in aria too.

i can bet a thing
If you know a good mechanic and would you have service your safari from him , your dad will not ever think of any other company.

Also , it will be new car in market . so i hope you'll max settle for a aria.

Yes bro i agree with you. I am not complaining about TATA cars , only their A.S.S. And no we wont leave it to a local mechanic only A.S.S always , so that is my main worry.

Yes going by reviews and reports the Aria is probably the best product ever from TATA sharing some techniques with Fiat and Range rover and also without any rattles and squeaks. But still i will reserve my judgement till i TD the car.

Yeah you said it , mostly we will be settling in for Aria. Only the color is to be decided now!

i dont think so. hyundai cars like santro & i10 may not be able to take abuse but their SUVs like Santa Fe are built for the rough & can very well take abuses just like the safari ir fortuner.

infact, hyundai's build quality is miles ahead of TATA's. so i think a Santa fe will withstand this abuse without any rattles longer than the ARIA.
