if you want a light in your boot, get a LED light and place it at the suitable position and take the wires from behind so that they come out behind the tail lamps, plug in the positive into the tail lamps positive cable and the negative to the pop out lever which comes out when you open the boot so that when ever you open the boot, the LED gets -ve from the pop out lever and + from the tail lamps and gives you enough light.

but napster, for that to happen i guess you need to keep the headlamps or atleast the parking lamps on.

no you dont have to, if im not wrong, one of the +ve cable running to your tail lamps will be active all the time. so as soon as you release your boot, the light glows

if that is the case, then i'll have to look at it. i still am not able to decide as to what has to be done.

even if thats not the case, just pull a +ve wire from the battery and power your leds.

simple idea is to get another unit similar to the one in the front and fit it in the boot and connect in parallel to the front unit. this can be converted to LED later.
