Below are the details of total cost for servicing + add-ons for a Maruti 800 at Carnation Auto.
Service:
So, Including VAT + other things. Total Cost was : Rs. 3,907.

- Single Tail Lamp : 317.72 INR
- Periodic Maintenance : 420 INR
- Exterior Rubbing + Waxing : 1,050 INR
- Greasing + Oil Top-Up : 42 INR
- Wheel Cover 12" : 500 INR
- Miscellaneous : 283 INR

Yes, even i felt the waxing/rubbbing cost is bit on higher side. Otherwise, looks OK.
Whats the normal charges for waxing a car?
I got my car waxed for 250 bucks. 1,050 bucks is plain rip off!!

None of the prices mentioned by 350Z are on the higher side, except for the waxing. Generally Maruti charges the same. Service guys will always charge you more for waxing. That is the only reason people recommend to get it done from specialists.

I have personally visited the Carnation store, here in Mumbai. The prices are the same as anywhere. The only difference is you can't bargain. You have to stick to the mrp, in which you eventually end up paying more.

Hey great report as always. Carnation seems to be expensive to me but yea maybe if prices are similar for all cars then it could be a VFM deal for bigger cars like corrolla etc. and I agree with 350Z and RSM, even though they replaced wiper blades which costs Rs. 87 or whatever it is their duty to inform in advance before doing extra job.
@others who are saying it is good thing etc etc. ok it is good thing but suppose if your tire has gone kaput and workshop guy change it for Rs. 2k bucks without informing you will it be acceptable?? they will give you reason "we have saved your life"![[lol]](https://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/images/smilies/Laugh.gif "Laugh [lol]")

Gave my Safari again to Carnation here in Chennai today. They called to my dad and said they are conducting a 25 point checkup in cars. We are also planning a trip next week inside Tamilnadu. So planned to give it today and check if the car is in perfect condition. Will get it back tomorrow mostly!
And also they said they are promoting a AC checkup and cleaning campaign for Rs.450. I have asked them to do that on my Safari also. It originally costs Rs.750 it seems but now they are giving at a summer special price of Rs.450!

The thread title can not be changed but you could create a new thread if there are enough of details to share. Do tell us the servicing cost details of your Safari and did you asked what is included in A/C Checkup? I say, Get it done only if necessary.

Got back my car only today , so it accounts to 4 days which is really high time for servicing a car! As usual i was made to wait for 10 mins each time while dropping and also delivery of the vehicle! The total bill was Rs.2k approx and after discounts it was Rs.1034!
The works included:
*25 point health check-up Rs. 475/- ( I would say its highly useful because they find out all the problems in our car everything from electrical to mechanical repairs and ask us to rectify it soon at their own place or even at our Authorized service station. They have mentioned a few repairs to be done to our car but unfortunately due to time constraint we are not carrying out the repairs as we are moving out of station wed morning. We enquired at our own TATA Authorized service station about the works they have mentioned , but they said that those works are very minor and need not be done immediately , they can be done after a few thousand KMS!)
*Washing and cleaning -Rs.475/- ( They have done this well both inside as well as outside)
* A/C check-up and duct cleaning Rs.450/-
*3M A/C Disinfectant Rs.562/-
*24*7 On-road assistance Rs.100 ( 24*7 on-road assistance for the next 6 months for 100 bucks)
