World's biggest auto show ends on a sour note
It is the world’s biggest automobile show in terms of footfalls- visited this year by an estimated 2 million people. The participation Toyota cost here is higher than even the Frankfurt Motor Show. But if these facts suggest that the Delhi Auto Expo, which ended on Monday, was a roaring success, nothing could be further from the truth.
Most participating companies and visitors said that poor facilities, bad crowd management and lack of coordination among multiple organisers had robbed the event of its five-star billing.
“It has been an agonising experience for us to participate at the Delhi Auto Expo. But the Indian car market is so important that we had no option but to make do with the poor infrastructure provided to us,’’ said a senior official of a Japanese car company, on condition of anonymity.
Companies also complained that basic facilities like clean toilets were missing , forcing them to hire mobile toilets for their staff. Some manufacturers said their CEOs and MDs had to slug it out in long queues as there was no proper arrangement for them to enter the venue. “And this despite our paying such exorbitant fee to the organisers ,’’ an official of a German company said.

Finally the 10th Auto Expo overs yesterday with all the action.
I notice that with every year, Auto Expo is touching new International Auto-Shows standards. I really look forward for the 11th Auto Expo (2012) which will bring a lot more new cars and excitement.

I notice that with every year, Auto Expo is touching new International Auto-Shows standards. I really look forward for the 11th Auto Expo (2012) which will bring a lot more new cars and excitement.
good coverage vibhor and superb pictures as well.It was good to see our TATA MOTORS in full fledge this year too and grabbing all attention along with some superb products launched, hopefully we get the same versions with same quality on offer after production starts.
This year green environment was in news and so did in auto expo, if you have do share more news of i10 electric as well as GM spark electric, which seems good city driven option with 1L price tag more to current current spark top end, and also have read that it would cover 200kms in one charge, which seems to be pretty good for city driven conditions, and if so is offered, i am on for one purchase.Do share more into this news vibhor along with pictures.
This year we also saw commercial vehicles taking some serious upgrades on their looks and comfort department with tata,mahindra launching their lineups with some great power and engines.
TVS also showcased their super bike, i dont remember its name, but saw that on NDTVprofit show,if you have details do share along with its picture.

hmmm any ways good work and good posting with tai marking. I myself felt pain in downloading them all , refresh find new pics and download them , i can feel the pain in marking and posting .

Autoexpo this year was a fun. Especially the ASIMO whose stage performance was a must watch. The way he danced and ran around in small steps was very amusing. At toyota too. performmance by Raghav for Etios was amazing. I loved the Etios song.
In the nutshell i had a great time at the expo but unfortunately we couldnt have a TAI meet. I also went to Rajeev's (Team) stall, but as he had already informed before, i was told the same by his team members.

Good pictures Akash. You were late to expo, but you have captured enough.
I have lots of them dude. I got late just because of the delhi fog(12hrs late).
But the toughest task was to get the snaps at Audi and Skoda stalls. The crowd was really unruly and dense.ASIMO was the best of all, especially his dance performance on the "ALL IZZ WELL" track.
