I get car serviced from samara Hyundai, gt karnal road. The advisers know me well and sometimes gives complementary things (remove some items from the billing :p)

Get the free services from hyundai and then start getting the car serviced from outside in front of a local mechanic since mostly all you need is regular oil change.

After that get every 3rd or 4th service from hyundai since they will check thoroughly. Just go for the things mentioned in the manual , nothing extra like "supercharger, any type of additive" total rip off.

Glad to help.

Thanks allhyundaicars! [:)] Now it remains to be seen whether I can control my urge till Jazz launches or do i get tempted to put 7 lakhs on i20 right now. I think both Zest and i20 are on introductory prices right now.

I think Zest is considerable cheaper than i20, Zest variant with Airbag+ABS+Alloys is 1.3 Lakh cheaper against i20 variant with same.

If roominess and space is requirement then Zest has no rival, i20s rear feels claustrophobic due to the high shoulder line.

i20 is slightly more premium in each department, Zest is more practical.

TATA has proved reliability with lakhs of Vista and Manza copies sold with only niggles being reported, nothing major.

Both are well rounded cars, I personally prefer the styling and stance of Zest more.

I suggest you to wait for Jazz just like me. It is a fantastic small car, not that i20 is bad, it too I a very good packaged car but some advantages Jazz offers isn't there in i20.

Yeah you are right Nishant. But it's still 7 months away, and my 14-year-old Indica is hell bent on torturing me! [lol]

What advantages, do you feel, make Jazz a better option than i20?

You are absolutely right about the price, but Tata cars don't age well. Seriously hope that is not the case with Zest, but like furious-driver said they are all first batch cars, and it's likely they will have a couple of niggles. I really want Tata to do well, but the amount of times I've been stranded on the road in my Indica make me very wary.[frustration]

14 years is a long long time, don't let first gen Indica to be basis of your judgement. Ask the Vista and Manza owners, Vista was highest selling hatchback after Swift for good 3+ years, surpassing i20 consistently.

He is a year (Oct 2011 - Oct 2012 Data) long hatchbacks sales data, when I was interested in numbers.

1. Swift = 174035/12 = 14502
2. Vista = 106514/12 = 8876
3. i20 = 83060/12 = 6921
4. Figo = 69221/12 = 5768
5. Ritz = 57820/12 = 4818
6. Beat = 56429/12 = 4702
7. Polo = 37130/12 = 3094
8. Liva = 35576/12 = 2964
9. Micra = 16723/12 = 1393
10. Punto = 9118/12 = 759
11. Fabia = 8839/12 = 736
12. Pulse = 4854/9 = 539
13. Sail U-VA = 423/1 = 423

How many Non Maruti cars can boast of 1 Lakh copies in a year, second to Swift is no shame.

What the Jazz offers is
1. Spacious Cabin with Ample boot space.
2. Petrol engine is better then i20s Kappa2 in terms of responsiveness & Performance
3. Easier to Maintain & Service (Lower Labour Rates compared to Hyundai)
4. More efficient
5. Choice of CVT gearbox compared to Torque Converter on i20
6. Slightly better dynamics

Jazz was very advance compared to others when it was launched, the reasons for it to flop were High Price and Lack of Diesel. Now Honda will rectify those negatives. Once that happens I think it will be the next biggest hit after Swift in the segment.

So, now you've go no option to go for i20 unless you can wait for Jazz. i20 is the best car at the moment followed by Polo & Swift. In Compact Sedan space you have Zest which is very impressive but owning I will not feel as special as Honda or Hyundai.

Patience = Jazz, Impatience = i20

I agree with carcar, previous gen indica were not that good. I remember when we used to take our i10 and an uncle used to drive indica v2. He had to switch off the air conditioning when going uphill.

I drove my cousin's vista and was shocked to see the comfort level and the drive. (For me it had the perfect driving position)

So yes , tata has came a long way since then and a car like zest proves this.

If indica is not reliable and you can have buy a new car without any problem you should buy a new car. No point in selling after a bad experience (any breakdown or anything else)

Saw 2 i20's today , me and 2 of my friends agreed that it looks hot [:D] especially the rear with those lights.

Edit : just saw your post 21. You already are facing issues with the car. Will suggest to buy a new car now.

Take a TD of both zest and i20 even if you want to buy after 7 months.

Hi There
if would have been at your place than i would have opted Zest without hesitation.
Hyundai paint quality is pathetic and ride quality is also soft, the body sheet is thin and get dented with minor of feather touch.
Whereas one of the best paint quality is from tata motors and the sheet metal and strength of the body is impeccable in TML cars.
Moreover you will get a closed boot space which is good in keeping those laptop bags safe.

Even if Zest and i20 are priced the same, The Zest does make a lot of sense. With more practicle features to use on day - in -day out basis, the separate boot and definitely a roomier cabin is any time a pick of the buy for a logical mind.

However it would be the ASS where Hyundai seems to score over Tata. I have experience TASS and is definitely improving. I have no complaints with TASS as yet.

Hyundai has a better image and status level than Tata however with Zest its a different ball game apparentely. Yes, Indica, Indigo Vista do have taxi image but not Zest.

However would suggest you TD both and then take you call.

As for numbers, i20 has 15000+ Booking and Zest, 10000+ .

The high numbers of i20 is due to the over-hype. Tata done their car very well.

@ TS
Did you see the Maruti Ciaz ?
Though it is not a hatchback, it is very well designed and has a premium look and hass innovative features[:)]

What's the expected launch date of Jazz ?
This is one question many of us are searching the answer and no one has a found a definitive answer. [anger]

Initially it was supposed to be launched by late 2014. Then reports came that it will be launched between Jan and March 2015 (Q4 of the FY). Latest we hear is that Honda has delayed the launch by a bit than what was planned (however, no one knows what was the originally planned date), but nothing is finalized. But they also have mentioned that it will launch anytime in 2015. Now, that can be anywhere between Jan and Dec [confused]

Even I am waiting for the launch of Jazz and hope and pray that it happens by March 2015 at least.
