Electronic Ignition For Maruti 800

Friends, am dedicating this thread to the carb-car owners.

This is a useful modification you guys can do. My car became very smooth in driving, less engine vibration and noticeable increase in pick-up. Now no need to bother about the CB point and condenser replacement.

The kit installed last month which I ordered from Mr. Kiran Bhide who makes the after market ignition kit for the carburetor cars, situated in Mumbai.

It includes MPI coils, Pulser coil plate(replaces the CB points), Ignition Module, Magnetic reluctor, NGK spark plugs.

With the help of the workshop friend I installed the kit and tuned. The result was just amazing. The car needs only half crank to start.

Hi Friends, Im new to this site. I have started my ownnership thread of my 800 too. I will be definitely going in for this mod. I am not that technical sound. Please excuse my knowledge on tech issues. But I would love to modify my 800 to a decent level.

Its an old thread but led me to the AUTOESCORTS site. Some of the numbers are not working while a gentleman by name Kiran answered the call placed at 9657864008. He asked me to call him back in 10 days.

Mine is a 2004 model Carb Maruti 800 which has clocked just 40K in 12 years. My sister was using it and this car has gone through lots of Distributor/point/coil related problems and hence I wanted something reliable. I know it is reviving old thread, but got to tell everyone Kiran is still in business for making custom electronic ignition units for vintage vehicles.

Day before yesterday I installed it in my Maruti 800 carb model and it instantly transformed my engine performance. Not only extremely crisp throttle response but idle rpms increased drastically after installation without touching carburetor. I had to turn the idle screw all the way down, still rpm is high. I rechecked again and again to confirm all vacuum hoses are connected and in good condition. I am very happy with the kit and I hope it will serve me years to come.

Unburnt petrol smell not detectable anymore which means emissions part should be taken care by now.

What was the cost of the whole mechanism? I'm planning to install them in my M800.
I had a few questions: Does it replace the ignition coil and the distributor completely (i.e. they just sit there as a dummy device) ?
How easy is the reversibility incase i want to go back to the stock version?

3000rs total cost, it replaces ignition coils and distributor plate. Distributor cover sits as a dummy.
I did it myself hence installation cost was zero.
Can be reversible any time.
