Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji's stated earlier this month that India is committed to
doing whatever is required to develop electric mobility in a big way, for economic growth and ease of living. He also said that a fresh
policy would be introduced for electric vehicles (EVs), with an aim at helping automakers increase production of battery-powered and
alternative fuel vehicles. This is a very welcoming development for the Electric Vehicle Industry in India and we see our EV Expo as a humble
contribution in the direction of fulfilling our Prime Minister's Vision."
"
Looking at the air-pollution faced by cities like Bengaluru and many other big and small cities across India, there is an urgent need to
create an atmosphere for greater adoption of eco-friendly, non polluting means of personal and public transport based on Electric Vehicle
technology. Support from local governments and municipal bodies in adoption of e-vehicles for sustainable passenger mobility in south
Indian cities would help in addressing the problem of pollution and last mile connectivity" Mr Arora added.
