I have booked Honda Brio V MT last week and today I got the Chassis number MAKDD137ECN****** from the dealer, registration yet to be done. The 9th and 10th letter of the chassis is E and C.
So after decoding it is May/2012 manufactured vehicle.

Is it common/fine to buy a vehicle which is manufactured 6 months before?

You must insist for a fresh model. There’s a possibility to push for discounts for an old model but check the odometer reading and ask the reason why this car is left in the stock.

I spoke to the dealer and insisted for a fresh model.
However the dealer said that usually all Honda cars are manufactured 6 months before (which I don't believe) but the assembly of parts happen in a later time.

I own a Honda City too and got it from the same dealer. Since I bought it in the year 2009 i'm not able to decode the Chassis number.

Could some one decode the chassis number for my Honda city (MAKGM252A9N******) so that I can be sure that not all Honda cars are manufactured 6 months before?
