Congrats for purchasing Vista. Having used my Vista for the past 3 years, I am completely satisfied. I am sure you will get the same satisfaction.
Out of curiosity, how was the handling of Quanto as compared to Vista? You have mentioned about problems in parking, but I would like to know ride quality, road behaviours etc. Once again, my heartfelt wishes [clap]

Thanks for the wishes. [:D]

Quanto : I did 2 TDs of the Quanto, the last one was a very long one with lots of open stretches. I felt the pick up was very good. There was a little body roll as you do turns at 50+ kmph but sharp turns at 20kmph was good. This is again contrary to what I read in many reviews online. From a seating position, you get a very good SUV feel and it also soaks up bad stretches really well.

As for the ride quality of my Cutee - I will be posting soon. My next update will be the pics of the gadgets and the one after that will be a review on what I observed in terms of road handling, etc (Just waiting for a long drive - all of last week has only been small city drives to be honest).

Hope I am not boring you folks with the long reviews. [confused]

In this forum, there is another member eman who purchased his vista. He was impressed by Vista's performance. I too, was very skeptical about Vista and I was not having Vista in my mind while buying a new car. But I can easily say, Vista's performance is one of the best. Do post your experience with Vista d90 on highways.[:)]

Hi,
I see the Red color Spoiler is giving a better look than the lack colored one.
It may be bit different if you use another color. Whether the Black Spoiler which you mentioned is of Metallic or Normal one.

The black one is a non-metallic black color. Though it shines with light and matches the roof black color but I was of the opinion that black color will not stand out like the red one does.

Also, black spoiler's are becoming common as a after-market fitment [evil]

Congrats jasonblr on your Vista purchase. I always recommend Vista to prospective buyers. TML has definitely gone high in build quality standards and it is clearly reflecting in this product. I hope the next generation Vista (Falcon) slated for 2014 launch will be carrying much better standards.

What I dis-like:
  • The instantaneous FE is a funny one that can jump from 7kmpl to 25 kmpl in seconds – no use I must say.

Will be adding pics soon. Here's a teaser.

Doesn't the instantaneous FE supposed to work like this? From what I understand the instantaneous FE will vary based on throttle, speed and gear selected as when there is a change.

I think you should look at Avg FE which should not change this frequently will give you the avg FE that you are getting. The instantaneous FE is quite useful to adjust your driving style to extract max FE. [;)]

Thank you Godfather. I was following the spy shots of the Falcon but didn't want to wait another 6-8 months. Also new cars in launch don't have any discounts too.

Thank you Golo

Yup you are right Neelkanth, on long drives it makes a lot of sense. But in city B2B traffic it is very funny to see it jump around. Btw, the Avg FE is getting to a healthy 18-19kmpl on a long highway trip with 50%AC.

It's been a while since I posted an update of Cutee - about a month to be precise.

Day 3 of getting the new car, had an issue were water was leaking from somewhere into the front passenger floor. Was a bit outside the city and it was a holiday. Initially thought it could be coolant but with no color and smell - was relieved. The next day was a holiday which made things worse. Finally took the car back to Concorde Motors and after 30 mins one of the technicians was able to narrow it down to a faulty A/c outlet tube that was bent. This caused all the water from the A/c to leak into the cabin. A cleaning of the tube & aligning it correctly fixed the issue. Drying the carpet was a tough job with a vacuum cleaner.

After driving the D90 for over 1300 Kms now both city & highway drives. Made 2 long drives, one to Yercaud in rain and the second one to Mysore. Also, did the first service at 1month/1000kms.

I have fallen in love with the power the car delivers and the superb pickup - took a while for me to come over it from driving a petrol.

What I love:
  • The engine - period. So refined and effortless to drive around.
  • Constant mileage of 20+ in city (mind you this is Bengaluru traffic) with A/c. Highways was around 24 again with A/c all the time.
  • Good ground clearnace - haven't scrapped the base with 6 on-board yet (touch wood).
  • Precise braking power and a well weighted steering - inspires a lot of confidence while driving.
  • A/c is a sure chiller - auto climate control is fantastic to use.

What needs improvement:
  • Indicators need a louder beeping in-cabin.
  • Storage compartments - not a lot in the cabin, would have loved one on RHS to the steering wheel.

Mods that I have added ever-since I purchased:
  1. Pure Scandanavian Leather seats (40k)
  2. Hella Red Grill supertone Horns (1.6k including installation)
  3. Local DRLs (Rs. 300)
  4. Reverse Camera + Reverse Sensors (5.2k)
  5. Armrest (1.2k)

First Service Experience:

DSC_2005.jpg

Was back from a trip to Yercaud which brought up the Odo to 1,000+ kms. Didn't take an appointment as it was a weekday. Drove straight to the Concorde Motors Service center on Hosur Road, Near Silk Board Flyover (Note: This is not the Dairy Circle one).

Cutee was the 5th car for the day coming in at 11a. Was greeted by SA Govindraj. He was patient enough to listen to my minor tweaks and record it on the job sheet.

Tweaks I had asked:
Handbrake was not very tight as before - the guy who fixed the Armrest didnot fix the center panel properly.
The boot door was not locking with a smooth action - had to hit it hard to lock.
5th gear ocassionally has vibrations on the gear lever.
D90 comes with Synthetic engine oil - it has turned dark in 1000kms (SA said this was common in all diesel vehicles - can someone englighten if true)
Cockpit center panel had gaps that was again created by the guy fixing the reverse camera + sensor.

All the above issues were fixed - except the engine oil one, which the SA told that it was common for diesel vehicles.

Around 1p the SA called me and said there was a 2k bill on my car - I was literally shocked. But once he started reading the list I stopped him and asked what my car number was - it was someone else's and he had goofed up. [surprise]

Got a call from the SA at 4p that the car was ready as promised. I went at 5.30p and picked the car in a hurry looking at only basic things. The bill was Rs.85 for the windscreen washer fluid. I was happy with the service - though it was only a wash and very little things to be done except fix stuff I had asked for.

Next day at home I found that one of the rubber supports that are in the bonnet hinges was missing after service. Went over the weekend and the SA was prompt is getting another one and fixing it - he was apologetic and said that it could have missed during the wash.

Overall, now the ride has become more smooth after the service. [:)]
