What is the paddle shifters? Why we need paddle shifters in Automatic Transmission?
Paddle shifters are levers behind the steering wheel which help the driver to shift gears in an AT vehicle by pulling them towards the steering wheel. They function like tiptronic AT gearboxes.

Paddle shifters/Tiptronic mechanisms are used to allow the driver to quickly upshift or downshift in case he or she feels the need to do so, in situations like requiring a quicker acceleration, engine braking or offroading.

One basic question, if the transmission is automatic, then why one need Paddle Shifters. Automatic transmission utilize, speed, throttle, thrust to adopt gear change. Mitsubishi gear system are neural fuzzy adapted systems. It control the transmission based on above three parameters and driver habits.

Just a small push to accelerator will change to down gear in most cases. A small lift from the accelerator will change to up gear. Then why we need it?

Reviving an old thread as for the first time saw a Dual Tone Pajero Sport sporting the Automatic Badge. Seems it has been silently added to the portfolio.

Additions over the standard Automatic, as informed verbally by the dealer, include:
1. Dual Tone Paint
2. Limited Edition Badging
3. Smoked / Black Alloys
4. Hub caps with Mitsubishi Logo in Red
5. Different style for Pajero Sport lettering on Door
6. Chrome covers for Headlight, Tail light, door handle bowls
7. Door visor
8. Rear Entertainment from mapmyindia
9. Chiller / Warmer (8 Litres)
10. MITSUBISHI and AUTOMATIC lettering in chrome on the tail gate

It was informed that the Pajero Sport in pictures is as received from factory and only item 8 and 9 are installed at showroom. Forgot to check the price difference over the standard Automatic.

Looks nice except for the chrome on the lights - how unclassy. The hub caps and the smoked alloys are a nice touch. The automatic lettering on the rear makes it a bit obvious and is a bit of a downer for me. But this car definitely has a presence.

You are right Sharpshooter - it looks like a chrome overdose. While the Mitsubishi logo in red on the hub caps is nice, I feel that the hub caps should have matched the colour of the alloys.

Black alloys look nice, i say. Fortuner came with one and it looks fab too, just different to the eyes and more soothing.
