Press Release:
MapmyIndia Move app & maps.mapmyindia.com are empowering citizens to help authorities (PMOIndia, local governments, police etc.) know about public grievances (e.g.non-allowance of essential supplies) and lapses in enforcement related to Corona lock down. This can be easily done on the MapmyIndia maps - citizens can share/tag the relevant authorities pin-pointing the specific problem, alongwith its location. Authorities can immediately activate the nearest and most suitable person/resource to reach the exact spot, using MapmyIndia’s live navigation guidance, without delay. Since the authorities have specific and accurate information about the nature problem the person dispatched/deployed will be well equipped/informed to handle the situation.

“MapmyIndia is committed to Prime Minister’s appeal to the public to jointly fight the threat of coronavirus and towards the realization of his promise of uninterrupted supply of essential goods and services to all corners of the country. In these difficult times every bit, even the smallest action taken in the right direction, counts. With MapmyIndia Maps and the Move app we are enabling the citizens to help authorities. Our objective is to facilitate better governance through better coordination/cooperation amongst citizens and authorities,“ says Rohan Verma, CEO & Executive Director MapmyIndia.

With limited resources and many constraints, the government authorities are still doing their best to maintain calm and keep Indians safe and sound. Using resources like the Move app and MapmyIndia maps we all can act as force multipliers for the authorities. Just by tagging and guiding them to the exact area of occurence, we are not only saving wastage of precious resources but also enhancing their efficiency. In a way, we are actually helping ourselves. And it is very simple (Video link:
):

· Click “Report an Issue“ on Move App – actively help the government and local authorities by reporting issues around you, like lapses in law enforcement, non-allowance of delivery of essentials

· “Share“ the Live Dashboard (maps.mapmyindia.com/corona) – while you can find help through the dashboard, you can also play a part by sharing it with family & friends across popular social media platforms e.g. Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram & Twitter.

MapmyIndia Maps and the Move app are already helping citizens to view, locate & reach nearby coronavirus testing labs, Isolation and treatment facilities – both government and non-government, adding new ones as they are notified. Users can see and add their own photos & reviews about these places, in terms of amenities/hygiene etc., helping other users with critical & updated information on the condition of each facility, by using MapmyIndia resources.:

· Follow “maps.mapmyindia.com/corona”– a live dashboard to get the latest, pan India updates on the spread & mitigation of Corona Virus viz. confirmed cases, recoveries, etc. along with the information on authorised COVID-19 facilities across India.

· Search “Corona” on Maps.mapmyindia.com or Move app - To find & navigate to nearby coronavirus testing, treatment and isolation centres.

In the midst of the general gloom and doom that Covid-19 has created in our midst, I found an interesting What'sapp message forwarded to me and I am attaching the link here. It seems that among all the prognostications about the virus, there may have been a prediction in one of our purans (The Narad Samhita) regarding the pandemic. The page is in Hindi and can be translated by the link at the top right hand corner:-

COVID 19 - NEED OF THE HOUR

Self-Check that every one of us must do every day is well explained in this video and it is a must watch.

Please note this is not a regular video / information that floats over Internet / WhatsApp.

I felt, I must share with you all as the forth coming weeks in INDIA are critical to ever one of us.

Note:
1. Warm water means lukewarm water and not hot water. Do not use anything very hot that irritates throat.
2. General requirement of water for human body is 40ml / kg of body weight that should include liquids in your regular coffee/ tea and food. Avoid over drinking.
3. Soap is best, but if you use hand sanitizer it must contain not less than 60% alcohol.
4. Summer doesn’t mean it will kill all the virus.

STAY HOME –STAY SAFE.
