The silver lining - hopefully ! - seems to be the gradual nearing of herd immunity. And the fact that in India the mortality rate is among the lowest in the world. Also the fact that the recovery rate is relatively high.
The rest of the story is certainly bleak. With the WHO declaring the possibility that the virus can be airborne, social distancing, lock downs, home isolation etc - all beg the question of their utility.
And with the periodic excitement of news snippets about the imminent launch of some vaccine or the other, followed by counter claims that the vaccine may still be a year away - all this makes for a very fraught and disturbing existence.
And if one gives any credence to reports emanating from more informal quarters (read seers & astrologers!) it appears that the worst is yet to come - between Nov end and mid-Jan '21. According to this school, only after Jan '21 the situation will see light at the end of the tunnel.
