Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV officially revealed: Launch details out
The French automotive giant Citroen has finally unveiled its highly anticipated coupe SUV, Basalt, in India. This new SUV will boast a unique sloping roofline, which gives it a coupe-like appearance. This new and unique global Citroen model will be produced in India and will go on sale in the second half of this year.
Citroen Basalt: Front design
Starting off with the front of the Citroen Basalt, it gets a similar front fascia as its other siblings, including the C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross compact SUV. This includes the signature split headlamp design and V-shaped LED DRLs. It also gets C3 Aircross-styled front grille and bumper with a few minor tweaks.
Side profile
On the side profile, the new Citroen Basalt gets the same flap-style door handles and smooth body lines. It will come equipped with bigger multispoke alloy wheels. The front and rear fenders get prominent claddings, which have been given a squared-off appearance.
Rear end
Coming to the rear end design of the Citroen Basalt, it will come equipped with a coupe-like sloping roofline. It will also get wraparound LED taillights and a pronounced decklid. The rear bumper has also been given a sporty appearance with silver claddings and contrasting gloss black design elements.

Citroen Basalt: Interior design
As of yet, the company has not revealed the interior design of the Basalt Coupe SUV. However, most likely it will boast a similar layout as the C3 Aircross. It is, however, believed that the company with the new model could be offering it more premium features.
The Citroen Basalt could come equipped with features such as automatic climate control and ventilated seats. It could also be offered with cruise control, keyless entry, and push-button start. However, the exact list of features has not been revealed by the brand. Also Read:

Citroen Basalt: Powertrain
As for the powertrain, the Citroen Basalt will come equipped with the same 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. This is the same engine that powers the Citroen C3 Aircross.
It generates a maximum power of 110 Ps and 205 Nm of peak torque. It will be offered with both a manual as well as torque converter automatic transmission. The company has stated that it will also be offering an electric version of the Basalt as well. The electric version will go on sale six months after the launch of the ICE Basalt around February of 2025.
Pricing and Competition
At the moment, the company has not revealed the pricing of the Citroen Basalt. However, most likely it will be priced in the range of Rs 15-20 lakh. Meanwhile, in terms of competition, it will compete with the Tata Curvv coupe SUV in India.
