Hyundai Motor India Ltd records highest ever sales

Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country's second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter for the first time since 1998 when the Santro rolled out saw cumulative sales peak at a record 53,804 units in September, 2009.

After months of slowdown the domestic market buoyed by the strong festive season sales recorded a high growth rate of 25% after months of fluctuating sales. Commenting on September, 2009 sales Arvind Saxena, Sr Vice President - Marketing and Sales, HMIL said, "The sales for the month of September were promising as we not only recorded the highest figures in our 11 years of operations but also this year the festive season has been encouraging as customers returned to the showroom. We hope that this will be the turning point for the automotive industry and if sales remain strong during the coming Diwali then we can look at double digit growth figures for the current year".

Thats great news for Indian Automotive Segment !

But shocking to see only 1 unit [Tucson] sold through out india !!

Why did they claim that they sell 1 car a month in INDIA ?

Rather they could have taken it from the huge count :)

well the biggest effect of Fortuner was on CR-V which really shows up, price higher, no diesel variant, so am not surprised to see this.

Yea 950 odd percentage increase. However, surprised that they have a minor drop in the month of September compared to August since there was Dussera in September and I expected the sales to be higher.

Cheers,

I think it will be a better idea to now make this thread exclusivly for the monthly sales of manufacturers, Instead of starting seperate threads on each manufacturer. Check out the Audi India Sales in month of September :

" Audi announced its best-ever sales of 205 cars for the month of September 2009, thereby registering an growth of 153 percent (81 cars in September 2008).
Commenting on the impressive sales performance Mr. Benoit Tiers, Managing Director, Audi India, said, “Audi India continues its growth momentum in September as well. Our increasing sales indicate the growing dominance of brand Audi amongst car enthusiasts in the country and we are keen to build on this strong foundation.”
Audi India has recorded strong growth all year around in spite of the difficult market conditions. The year-to-date growth stood at an impressive 72 percent (Jan-Sep 2009: 1,333 cars; Jan-Sep 2008: 777 cars). Audi India has already surpassed last year’s annual sales of 1,050 cars by recording a total of 1,128 car sales in the period of January to August 2009.

The entire Audi model range, comprising the new Audi Q7, the Audi Q5, the new Audi A6, the Audi A8, the Audi A4, the Audi TT and the Audi R8, is available at 12 dealerships across the country: in Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Kochi."

Bolero is still doing very well.
Is it including its other models like pick-up? or bolero alone?
