I agree with you 350Z.
while Linea's sales are still ok punto should atleast do 1500 units every month.
I think FIAT needs to open its own sales showrooms.
TATA is just not able to provide the pre/post sales experience that a FIAT customer would expect.
This is purely my opinion.

I think FIAT should now start working on the establishment of independent service centres.

indeed i know that its 50% TATA.
then fiat n tata should realize that the buyers of fiat cars aspire for more than juz a car when they walk into the showroom!

True Ichimaru,

No Manufacturer / dealer will be ready to sell other's car whole heartedly :)

FIAT should come out of the JV asap.

But i don think Fiat is not yet ready ready to face the Indian market alone , i feel first they have to build up a reputation that Fiat cars are not costly to maintain and are reliable under the JV and that would take a few more years i guess!

They could do some ads picking up the owners of Fiat vehicles and make them speak about their car , the reliability , quality , A.S.S experience and then air the same. IMO it can help people to change their mindset about Fiat cars!

Tata is also benefiting (50%) from Fiat car sales, so i don't see why they don't want to sell.
The issue is with local vendor/dealer, they need to be educated.

This will be foolish thing Fiat can do at this time (in my personal opinion).
Tata is taking good care of Fiat customers.

Yes Fiat is not doing proper advertisment of the good things it is offering. I never saw an ad with spare parts comparision with others. IMO, Fiat new cars spares are cheaper than even Swift. I have not seen any ad which tells about its ride, handling and stability.
Just compare how nicely Figo and Polo has shown their features.
The cars are reliable, i have not seen/read any major issues with new cars (with few exceptions). Yes there were/is some plastic fit-n-finish type issues, which they should rectify ASAP.

Okay.. What ever I have said is from my personal experience.

I have been to many TATA FIAT showrooms & I find a great difference between their interest in selling a TATA car vs FIAT car.

This is no suprise that Punto is eating the sales of Vista & Linea is eating the sales of Manza (They have their rivals in their own showroom).

So most of the times, they tell like, FIAT guys is not their for TD, or to explain & blah blah blah!!

I think it will be case only in some laziest dealerships because salesperson gets benifit in either ways..or maybe i guess they will be getting more comission on selling fiat cars and FYI manza and linea are different segment cars.

TATA dealerships are just coming out of their pupa stage [;)] Each dealership has monthly target for individual models. So there is no wonder if the sales person is keen to sell TATA cars. They don't have to convince a customer to go for FIAT as the customer would have conceived it already. However for TATA cars, sales person needs to convince the customer first!

Actually this is a common case in most of the joint ventures that the company doesn’t will to focus to sell their partner’s car equally, although what I believe is that here main fault is from dealership’s end, not from manufacturers.

Even I am yet to come across any TV advert, Banner, hoarding, Newspaper ad.
The current India-SriLanka match, the Ground has a huge word "FIAT" marked/ painted on the ground.
Punto 90HP adv is coming on TV. Its a small adv.

Yes Fiat has to do some more.
