Re: "Café Racer Inspired" Hero Splendor Pro Classic Launch Soon

Can't the engineers plonk the Passion XPro's engine aka. Honda Dream series' engine?[anger]
Buudy, they would become money short as there are not those great experts or swappers or plonkers like you there[lol]. And secondly, I would say that the Honda Dream Series engine would be out of the frame, and hence, the rider will not even have enough place to rest his leg!

Soo, a bike manufacturer without its own thought?
Can't they 'tinker' the frame? They may ask "What is R&D? Sir, can you please explain that crap?"[evil][lol]

Go and have a look at the new Karizma ZMR and you will understand what their R&D is doing.
Can you point out some??

  • Stacked up headlights, although they are like P220 but since Hero says so, hence I'll agree that they are inspired from EBR 1160 RS. And still no projector too.
  • Weird styling - although looks are subjective but they screwed up the elegant front styling of ZMR(My personal opinion)
  • Karizma R still doesn't gets rear discs.
  • The 223cc mill is still same as that of older motorcycle with a bump in power and torque.
  • That bump in power and torque is not done by any HEROes of HERO Motocorp - the EBR(Eric Buell Racing) guys did that for Hero.
  • Compare them to Bajaj, Yamaha or Honda and you will understand what R&D they are doing. Honda left them, now they are with EBR - what by themselves?

Somehow i don't like the design language of EBR. Their bikes look bulbous. Sharpness is not there. Specially, front view of all their bikes looks weired to me. We all know what EBR is. Originally they din't have their own engine. They were getting engines from HD / manufactured under the license of HD. They are tuning the V twin engines to extract the maximum power. If we see their new line up we can observe all the engines are same old engines. They are simply doing some tuning to increase the performance. So, I don’t expect hero to acquire some ground-breaking technology/engine from EBR.

Everything was fine until Honda split up with hero.Build quality had a huge downgrade.Almost all of their engines are from Honda and when they left,Hero was helpless and That is why I will go for TVS if they are compared with Hero or as any Indian company.TVS-BMW is what is called as a partnership. They are gonna give every 250cc a run for their money.TVS must defenitly improve their Vehicle NVH and BMW guys are gonna help them.Bye Hero !! Thank you

I disagree at this point![sleep]
Build quality was done by Hero from the beginning itself[roll]! Only Honda provided engines.
From the frame, styling parts(visor, side panels), etc etc are made by Hero.
But I can't understand why the side panels of my 97' Splendor has the text " ABS HONDA "
What is ABS HONDA?

No dude, some styling and other parts were made by Honda too! You cannot and shouldnot tell that Splendor designing is completely made by Hero as it is made by some panels from Honda too. And that's the reason why you don't find the CD Deluxe and Splendor to be same.
Even I don't know about ABS honda.

Re: "Café Racer Inspired" Hero Splendor Pro Classic Launch Soon

From the day Hero Honda produced its first motorcycle in form of CD 100 is there any engine they have developed?

  • 100 cc - Honda
  • 125 cc ATFT/ASFS/PGM-FI - Honda
  • 150 cc ATFT/ASFS - Honda
  • 225 cc - PGM-FI - Honda
  • 225 cc PGM-FI, New tune - EBR

What Hero motocorp has developed on itself till date? Its a shame that a company developing motorcycles since 30 years isn't yet having a single in-house developed engine!! [frustration]

Its no surprise that their presence in international market is negligible and Bajaj is ahead of them in exports.

Now look at Bajaj:
  • DTS-i
  • DTS-i triple spark
  • Offering oil cooled and liquid cooled engines
  • Projector headlamp - P220
  • ABS is coming in Pulsar 400 [clap]

TVS:
  • RTR
  • First indian motorcycle with ABS - Apache 180 ABS
  • Petal discs - they are fantastic.

What has hero done?
