now even hyundai will launch maruti ertiga competitor @ auto expo!

Kolkata : Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the country’s largest exporter and the second-largest car manufacturer will Global Premiere its Concept Compact MPV, the HND-7 on the opening day of the 11th Auto Expo beginning in New Delhi next week.

The other major attractions at the Auto Expo, beginning on January five, will be the three-door Veloster, a utility coupe and the premium sedan Elantra. The company’s existing line-up from the Eon to the Santa Fe will be present.

Showcased in the New Delhi Auto Expo 2008 as concept car the Veloster will be present as a premium crossover utility vehicle as the most successful cars internationally.
The new Elantra for display at the Expo is a sedan with sporty looks, internationally it is available in two engine options in both manual and automatic transmissions, company sources here today informed.

”We are showcasing some very exciting cars from our international range at the Auto Expo. Hyundai’s international range compares with the best, we are extremely happy to bring these cars to the Expo,” the sources quoting Mr Arvind Saxena, Director, Marketing and Sales, HMIL said.

Hyundai is bringing the Veloster to the Auto Expo:

The Veloster is a three-door sports car , it isn’t a two-door coupe with an opening boot-lid configuration – instead it has one door on the right and two doors on the left; with the third door-handle similar to the one seen on Chevy Beat’s rear door. The third door is incorporated to provide easy access to the rear seat.

The Veloster is powered by a 1.6-litre GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) petrol mill that belongs to the Gamma family of Hyundai engines. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission and puts out close to 140 PS of power and 166 Nm of torque.

This is a nice concept. I remember it was showcased at Auto Expo 2008.

Maruti Suzuki To Exhibit Swift Sport & Hybrid At Expo:

The Suzuki Swift Sport is powered by a 1.6-liter, M16A petrol motor which produces 134 hp of power and 160 Nm of torque. A 3-door model, the Swift Sport has a 6-speed manual gearbox and is a front-wheel drive vehicle. But the Swift Sport is not about outright acceleration or top speed as this sportier version of the popular Swift also has stiffer suspension and low profile tyres for added agility. Maruti Suzuki will also showcase the hybrid version of the new Swift at the Expo.

Hyundai planning to launch a LPG Eon at the Expo.Hyundai Motor India has started production of the LPG version.

It will be a factory-fitted LPG kit in addition to its 32-litre petrol tank.The Eon’s LPG kit is likely to be ARAI-certified and impact resistant as well.

I heard that Audi is to launch 3 new cars at 2012 Auto Expo, Mercedes Benz SLS Roadster and 10 other cars coming in Auto Expo 2012, Face-lifted Toyota Fortuner, Innova and Camry ready to go at Delhi Expo, Fiat to launch New Linea and Punto before Delhi Auto Expo, New Hyundai Elantra possibly be displayed at 2012 Delhi Auto Expo etc.

The two new bikes the 110cc Passion XPro , 125cc Ignitor and 110cc Maestro scooter will be launch at the Expo by Hero Moto Corp.
