Did you go up kodachadri? Kodachadri peak (that Shankar peeta) is something else. You have to view the sunrise there and experience it.

Today as it wasnt a busy day at work headed to the mechanic for the petrol tank vibrating issue as well as the front wheel had a bit of wobble so wanted to get it checked.

Issue 1: Petrol tank vibration have covered the center rod of the chasis that seats the tank with Rubber Tube so that there is cushioning while vibrating and the bolts that hold the tank below the seat had become a bit loose, guess its common when you touch 3 digit speeds which i did at places when the road on the ride day was open. however now the vibration issue is resolved.

Issue 2: The front wheel Wobble

found that the culprit was the wheel bearing one of them had worn out, it comes as pair so replaced as a pair, the Bearings were from tata cost of each bearing was 88.16 so total damage was 176.00 INR. plus labour of 100 INR

both the issues sorted took him out for a spin and he is as fit and fine now...

a few more modification has been planned for him so that he can be a good companion for the saddle Sore challenge.

Mod1: A rider seat backrest, which im fabricating with self idea and is supposed to be cost effective.

Mod2: Its actually isnt a Mod but going back to original,

As saddle sore is about a race with time to much Kms wanted a vibration free ride, hence thought of going back to stock silencer. which would reduce the vibration when hitting 3 digit speeds.

will post the pic of the backrest once its ready!!! it would not be that a clean job as it was done with trial and error method. but nonetheless will serve the purpose without spoiling the overall look of the bike.

@ sureshisme i must say you have a hawk eye, its a Bajaj Kristal which i purchased a week ago as the owner was disposing it to scrap as no one was ready to Buy it, it costed me peanuts but nonetheless i saved the vehicle. will write a detailed review once i take time of from Atom.

I must tell you i had the longest ride on Atom after the backrest was installed, 956 kms in 24 hours. the ride details ill be sharing shortly. it was very very comfortable very less fatigue. yeah you are right about the steel studs the front rider seat left side is where all the studs have worn out as that the side is which is used to pull atom or its bent to when you kick start. no i haven't been able to fix it however have informed the person who stitched it for me, he said he will replace them for free as im his regular customer.

On Sunday the 7th of Feb our Group had planned a Flag off ride, i was away from home and will be for another 3 months as a distant property we have has some issues, so sorting it out. The place where iam stationed now is called SIRSI ( Karnataka) a land of Arecanut ( Supari)

so my friends had planned a Ride as we do every month, and last month i couldnt join them due to my work schedule, This time around everybody wanted me to come, though i felt that if i ride, it would be a hectic one day ride, Why ???

The ride was From Mangalore-Madikeri- Kushalnagar- Sight seeing--- Harangi Dam-- return to Mangalore

however for me the ride would be from

Sirsi-- Mangalore--Madikeri- Kushalnagar--Sight seeing--- Harangi Dam-- Mangalore--return to Sirsi

A total of 956 kms in 24 hours. not that its not doable its doable provided you dont waste time sightseeeing, however this ride was pure sightseeing and photography ( just to carry the memory of the ride home, none of is a professional photographer)

so the ride was planned and as everyone had forced me, Also we had come out with official Flag for our club and this was the flag off ride, so even i didn't want to say a No..

hence the ride started, my friends were starting the journey at 6:30 that meant i need to start my journey well in advance as i had to cover 265 kms to reach Mangalore...

Saturday night the discussion on the ride happened and everybody asked me to join them and being a flag off ride even i felt that as a club member it was my responsibility to participate.

so Saturday came from work at around 10:00 had food and went off to sleep, while sleeping had kept the alarm and as everyday i had put my phone on silent.

i was supposed to start my ride by 2:30 A.M. Sunday Morning, however started the journey when i finally woke up 3:30 as my daughter woke me up as she wanted water, A big thanks to her for being my Alarm.

so as i was already late got ready in a Jiffy and by 4:00 A.M was ready and fired ATOM he woke up roaring in the silent morning hours ( I'm Sure my neighbors would have cursed me )

Started the journey towards Mangalore, With Full on music in the ears and atom was singing his favorite song Dug--dug--dug--dug. and the speedo showed the speed to be somewhere close to the 90km/h range. nothing much on this ride as it was dark. Had messaged my friends that i would be late by an hour, Atom was munching Kms as if he hadnt had breakfast... I reached Mangalore by 7:00 A.M. and after Flag off we started the Ride, by 7:15 we were riding to Madikeri and on the way at MANI another rider was joining us, we reached Madikeri by 10:00 A.M. its just 138 kms ride to madikeri, we stopped an hour for breakfast and Photoshoots.

After reaching Madikeri, one of our friends said he has a nice spot we can go to. so we go and find out that it is a deserted place with fantastic view, there was a deserted house as well. and while our photography was going on a man walked to us and asked, why we are here so on and so forth, Later we came to know from him that the deserted house is not a house but a govt office, it used to be railway booking office of Madikeri for Mysore division. A very nice place to click Pics.

After that we headed towards Kushalnagar , to vist the famous Harangi Dam, the ride to kushalnagar is a 30kms Ride from Madikeri, Once you enter Kushalnagar you have to take a left which leads you to HARANGI DAM..

will be continued .......
