... How do I activate the service package ?
Sorry, I do not understand whatever you mean by service package. When I powered-ON the ZF5 first time, it was under Wi-Fi and things happened almost on their own. Member macsvin might be able to help you.

Re: Update on Warranty and Battery Life

(A) Registration and Warranty:

(B) Battery Life:
After last Power-OFF Power-ON, the battery has lasted for 1 Day & 23 Hrs. Screen-shot attached for Ref. Two full nights and a day of almost standby (93% to 68%) and light telephony and screen-on activities during today (65% to 7%). That's a very good performance after the Friday-to-Saturday-Drain-scare [:)]

I have not got enough time to go thourgh the enw device in details but whatever time I spend I am really very surprised to see too many excellent features in such low coast cell.
One thing I am not able to find is how should I change default storage to SD card. All my Whats app images, applications are still on internal Storage (8 GB). Please assist

So in this case what would be the use of using SD card? Instead of investing in it I can take a periodically back up on my laptop. I thing thats the wrong move on new version.
By the way pictures taken from camera are automaically stored on SD card

I vaguely remember seeing a figure closer to 4 Hrs w.r.to the screen shot posted at post # 12. Will keep it in mind next time. For today, it is a 12H 26M to 32% Battery. The break up is below:

49% : 01H 59M for Android System (CPU time)
11% : 12H 25M for Standby
09% : 01H 46M for Screen
08% : 00H 06M for Android OS (CPU Time)
05% : 00H 09M for Google Search
04% : 00H 10M for Solitaire 3D
04% : 10H 41M for Phone idle
03% : 00H 06M for Media Server
03% : 00H 52M for Asus Phone (I guess voice Calls)

The screen was accessed a LOT today for Texting, Note taking, Calendar, checking Contact info, showing off etc (pushing two colleges to ditch their phones in favour of a 5 incher [;)]). One interesting activity to note is the Android System has eaten 2Hrs of CPU time ! Android OS, with just 6Minutes has contributed to 8% [surprise]. This is interesting.

Easy macsvin. Settings - Asus Customized Settings (under DEVICE) - App installation settings - Prefer external storage. I hope you are already on KitKat.

Very basic question from me - How do I know if I have Kitkat? I can see the andriod version as 4.3.
If this is not kitkat how do I upgrade? Seen some reviews where they have suggested that kitkat is not yet stable. Please assist

Mine is Android 4.4.2 (KitKat). You are on Jelly Bean. "Settings-About-System update" should start the download followed by installation. Except that one time "Battery Drain" issue, I'm not having any problem. NO lags, NO Force Closing, NO Crashes, NO heating up, NO phone Freezing/Hanging, NO Dropped Calls. I guess the KitKat update is stable. Even yesterday Asus pushed updates for 3 to 5 Phone Modules (from Play Store). A colleague of mine is unable to update over Data network. I can't comment on this except a brief "Better try updating over Wi-Fi".

Where are the pics MR. Vijay! Congrats on your new phone.
Thanks CarLoverJosh. You asked for it, you got it. The shine (in Pic 2 & 4) is due to light bouncing off the "transparent soft plastic of Flip Cover (into which the phone is inserted)".

My ZF5 is black in color and does not look so bad as in photos above. Pls tolerate the poor Qlty images. Better images from web (courtesy respective website) are given below:

How to update Zenfone 5 to KitKat when OTA update Fails.

Settings-About-System update - I can see my phone is updated but cannot see that Andriod version getting updated to KitKat.
Please help
Panic not, Mahesh. I think, failure of OTA update for KitKat is not uncommon for ZF5. The links below will help you get 4.4.2 manually.

How to Manually Update Zenfone 5 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat - AndroidTeen
How to Update Asus Zenfone 5 to Kitkat Manually - AndroidMeister

You can also search in the xda-developers.com for solved responses. It's not a big problem, but an irritant nevertheless when OTA fails. Good luck.

Asus Zenfone 5 - User opinions and reviews

Refer this link. Its been said by ASUS tech support team that the new version is not stable & one has to install at his own risk.
I will wait for few more days before I upgrade to Kitkat.
By the way I am getting a poor response form Battery Life. I shall provide the screen shot of battery usage by today EOD. But from morning 7 AM to 2.30 PM my battery is reduced frpom fully charged to 85 % with very minimal usage
