Anniversary Special: Chennai Mega-Meet (Report Pg.9 Onwards)

Wow. Ilango kudos to your work. I am damn sure that after completion of yours will be one of the hottest Lancy of the town. And needless to say our members are looking great with their rides. The burnout pics are breathtaking. I can feel the burning rubber. I wish i was a chennaite, i could have been among you, anyways now thats i call "Anniversary Special"!
Yeah even i cant wait to see his finished Lancer! And hey buddy you are always welcome to Chennai , just inform in advance and we can all meet up!

The previous day of the meet i gave my Verna a good wash and made her look clean. Previously it was looking horrible thanks to the rains while doing highway runs! And man , as time passed my excitement kept growing! I din sleep till 5:30AM the next day , so much excited on going to meet all guys again after long time along with few more new buddies! The next day woke up at 8:00AM and got ready by 9:00AM. Called my friend Saravana Prasad to check whether he has started from home , it takes a 40 mins highway drive for him to reach my home. And he said he had just started. Got a call from Zinam saying we will meet at the same spot like last time at 9:30AM.
Meanwhile got an SMS from Ilango he will not be able to make it to the meet saying his Lancer is having some problems and its a risk driving it to Chennai , i asked him to take the risk and leave the vehicle for service after reaching here!![[evil]](https://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/images/smilies/Evil.gif "Evil [evil]")
Meanwhile , got a call from Debayan and said he will come in my car and park his RTR in my home , i guided him to my home and he reached on time. My parking lot is just a narrow passage and my Verna was parked inside! Had to take out my Safari first park it outside, then neighbours's Manza and then my Verna! Then combined with Debayan and went to the spot where me and Zinam planned to meet.
I reached the spot and called Zinam. He said he will be there in 5 minutes. As said he came there in his sparkling i10 black beauty clean and shining after a wax coat! He came along with his colleague Surya. A damn crow **** was there in my car's bonnet which i noticed it just now. Bought a water packet from a nearby shop and cleaned it immediately!
After that me , Zinam , Surya and Debayan were waiting for my friend Saravana to arrive! It was around 10:00 AM and still my friend din arrive! It normally takes only 40 mins for him but he din arrive even after an hour! Called him up and he said he was held up in a traffic jam near his place and he crossed a toll booth and will be there in 15 minutes. Then we were having some interesting chats within ourselves. It was almost 10:30AM now and still my friend din arrive!
Again i called him up and he said that a major accident had occurred in that highway and he was stranded in a bridge for more than 15 minutes without moving an inch! He said that a tipper truck carrying quarry boulders lost both its rear wheels , dashed into another similar truck and that truck in turn toppled and all the boulders were lying on the road! He said the vehicles were being moved away with cranes and boulders were being removed from the road onto the medians. He said it will take more than 30 minutes for him surely! Meanwhile got a call from Surendar that he has reached Poonamalee already and he is waiting for us! We explained to him that we will be a bit late and asked him to proceed towards the race track and we will meet there.
Then asked Zinam and others whether they had any breakfast. All others except Debayan were empty-stomach like me! I explained the situation to them and so we decided to have breakfast somewhere and pass the time till he arrives. We decided to have breakfast at Hot Chips vegetarian restaurant a few kms away from our place. And we decided to leave in Zinam's car itself. That was the first time i was hearing music in his car from his Eclipse HU and Infinity speakers , and they were amazing! It sounded great even without an amp!
Thanks to Zinam's spirited driving we reached the restaurant in few minutes itself! We decided to have light food which was readily available and Debayan said he needed only juice. We then had our food and after that only i realized i had Pranay's number with me! I immediately called him and he said he is already on the way to the race track. We explained to him that we will be a little late due to the above mentioned reasons and i gave Surendar's number to him saying he will be there in the race track soon enough. Meanwhile again got an SMS from Ilango saying his car is in running condition now and he will be coming to the meet in his Lancer!
We then proceeded to the same spot we met first again soon enough thanks again to Zinam's spirited driving! Again called my friend and he told he has reached here finally! I took my car went along with Debayan to pick up my friend and then reached back and combined with Zinam. We were ready to move finally towards the race track and it was 11:00AM already! The first super saloon race was at 11:30AM!
Both of us had low fuel in our rides and so decided to fill it up together at a petrol bunk towards the race track. Hope i din bore you! Rest of the report to be continued!

Here comes the next part!
Me Debayan and Saravana in my car. Zinam and his friend Satya in his car , we proceed towards the race track. We filled up fuel in a petrol bunk and while checking air i found that my left front tyre has yet another puncture!![[frustration]](https://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/images/smilies/Frustration.gif "Frustration [frustration]")
Nothing could be done now , i filled up air and proceeded towards the race track with Zinam. Traffic was a bit higher than usual and by the time we reached the track it was around 12:10PM already and the first saloon race was underway. We saw Surendar and Pranay waiting outside the track for us near their Verna and Indigo respectively , they could not enter inside because i had the passes.
We showed the passes then entered the race track! The parking lot was horrible and the road leading to it was even more horrible! We somehow managed to drive till the end of the parking lot and found that the parking lot was poorly maintained thanks to the rains! As the road leading to the parking lot was very narrow and we were already late all the good dry parking spots were already occupied by the cars and rest parked it in the narrow lane itself! We saw a Fortuner which got stuck in the slush and muck and it struggled a lot to move out of it. People even started pushing it but still it struggled! So we said if this is the case with Fortuner itself then our cars will get stuck for sure!
Me and Zinam parked our cars and were observing how to take our cars outside in case many cars pile up behind us after sometime. Pranay then suggested we better park the cars outside the track itself! Since the road is narrow we cannot even make an U-turn! We have to return back all the way in reverse , it was a good half a km atleast! We proceeded in reverse again the whole way , and an SX4 and Figo was coming towards us. We explained them that no parking space is available inside and so asked them also to move in reverse. They agreed and they also moved back the whole way. While coming back again we noticed they somehow finally managed to move the Fortuner outside but now a Qualis got stuck!
Finally after much struggles we managed to get a good parking spot just outside the track entry and that is when Niranjan(Monkey1) joined us and it was 12:30PM already! I was a bit surprised to see him because i expected him to be a college going dude!! As we had parked our rides outside we have to walk through that horrible road now! We somehow walked through and it was good that everybody were wearing shoes! Niranjan quickly said he expected these conditions and that is why he din wear his costly shoes!
After getting inside we found out that the free entry stand was crowded as we were very late and we could already hear the super saloons zooming in the track! Zinam then quickly made some calls and arranged VIP passes for all of us , thanks to him we got a good position to view the track! By the time we managed to get there , the super saloon race was in its final lap and one white Esteem driver won the race! We were given a cup of Pepsi meanwhile the stunt cars were getting ready. Each time a Polo car approached the corner in front of us we expected them to drift but no one drifted! The white Polo car driver was the best of the lot , he tried a couple of times but couldn get it right! And Surendar's eagle eyes will spot any exotic that is parked in the parking lot and any car coming inside the parking lot and we will ask Zinam to capture it. He spotted a Merc exotic , a Porsche , Bmw 7-series racer Ashwin's modded Accord and a few more exotics!
Then came the visual treat of the stunts performed by the three Polo cars! It was amazing viewing the wheelspins and powerslides of the drivers! The crowd was getting behind them and each wheelspin and powerslide was greeted with a loud cheer! We were all amazed to see them and started clicking few pictures. After the stunt show got over it was almost 2:00PM and we started feeling hungry. We decided to leave the place and have good food outside somewhere.
Niranjan said we will have dinner at a restaurant nearby , i have had lunch at that place before and its just average! So i said we will move into the city again and have good food somewhere. Everybody was okay with non-veg food except Pranay , he doesn even have eggs! The nearest place where we will get good food was my area Anna Nagar! We all decided to have food there. My friend Saravana suggested KFC while Debayan and Pranay suggested Domino's! Rest all of us were neutral and were okay with both of them! Lots of discussion between Saravana and Pranay and finally we decided to head towards Domino's pizza in Anna Nagar. Not many of them knew the route , so Zinam lead the way followed by all others.
