Google held its IO 2022 on Wednesday to finally announce a friendlier version of Android 13 that can be installed on more phones. It is Android 13 beta 2, which lets go of initial bugs and is more polished for use. It, however, is still beta software, which means not everything is rosy in it. There may still be bugs and issues that even Google is not aware of, which is why it is a little risky to use Android 13 beta 2 on your daily driver. But if you have a spare phone, then, sure, go ahead.

On its Android developers' website, Google has listed all the phones from across the brands that will be eligible for Android 12 beta 2.

Suno AI Android App released

Suno-AI-Android-app-1024x576.jpg

Suno AI Android App has been released by the AI Music company that claims to create songs on the basis of text input by the users. The company describes Suno as a “powerful music studio in your pocket, designed for creating on the go.” “Whether you’re capturing a spark of inspiration or turning an idea into a beat, Suno for Android makes it simple to bring your ideas to life,” says the company.

As detailed in a blog post, with the Suno AI Android app, you can:
  • Create music by describing your ideas through text prompts
  • Discover new tracks, genres, and inspiration from the creator community
  • Show off your sound—share your creations
The company says that this is the first version of Suno for Android and it wanted to get it into the consumers’ hands quickly so you can start creating music. “While this release includes our core features, we’re just getting started, and there’s much more to come,” it stated.

Suno AI Android app is now available to download via the Google Play Store. However, the service isn’t entirely free to use. You can get started with 10 free songs (50 free credits) per day, or you could subscribe to Suno’s subscription to make more music. Aside from creating music, you can also listen to creations from other users of the app.

Last month, Suno launched its v4 model which it touts to be a major upgrade over its predecessor. The v4 is claimed to deliver cleaner audio, sharper lyrics, and more dynamic song structures. It also powers some of the other features available in the service, such as Personas and Covers.

Suno AI stands out among other AI music generators in the space by allowing the users to create everything from instrumentals to vocals and lyrics.

Your Android phone will now reboot automatically if left locked for 3 days

In a quiet but impactful update, Google is rolling out a new feature that will automatically restart your Android phone or tablet if it stays locked for three consecutive days, and it's all about protecting your data.

The change is part of the latest Google Play Services update (version 25.14) and is being delivered silently in the background, with no need for user action. Once installed, if your device remains untouched and locked for 72 hours, it will reboot on its own and enter what's known as the "Before First Unlock" (BFU) state, a highly secure condition where your data stays fully encrypted and virtually inaccessible without your passcode.

This move strengthens Android’s defences against forensic tools used by law enforcement or bad actors trying to extract data from locked phones. Tools like Cellebrite or Magnet Forensics often work by targeting devices after they’ve been unlocked at least once, when some data has already been decrypted and stored in memory. Rebooting into the BFU state effectively closes that window of vulnerability.

Interestingly, this isn't a full Android OS update, it’s being pushed via Play Services, a method Google increasingly uses to deliver security features faster and more widely, without waiting for manufacturers or carriers. A similar approach was used for the "Circle to Search" update earlier this year. However, the automatic reboot feature will not apply to Wear OS devices.

Apple introduced a comparable feature in iOS 18.1 last year, called "Inactivity Reboot," and Google’s version signals a growing trend in mobile security: silent, proactive defences that protect your data without requiring you to lift a finger.

While the idea may sound subtle, it’s a smart upgrade, especially useful for those who leave their phones unattended during holidays, breaks, or travel. In today’s world of persistent digital threats, sometimes it's the invisible updates that offer the strongest protection
