Re: Toyota: Auto Expo 2014 Coverage

Hi Mathew, I have already checked the website long ago, they haven't updated any detailed information regarding variants and features. I have been to toyota dealership today to enquire about the price and variants and salesman there doesn't have any clue. He gave me the pricing of the existing Toyota corolla which costs 15,43,000/- OTR hyderabad for J variant D-4D and 16.43 for J+ and he told me that the facelift would cost at least 50,000/- more, variant to variants which means the basic model J variant would cost 16 lakhs on road which looks pretty steep to me. For the same price I am also getting a chevy cruze & Hyundai Elantra. I just love corolla for being a reliable car and piece of mind ownership years over the years. Those JDM D-4D engines that are manufactured in Japan are bulletproof engines. If the same engines were made in India, I bet they won't be as reliable as JDM engines.

Re: Toyota: Auto Expo 2014 Coverage

Yes I have heard of this issue. And Toyota Corolla has become expensive, so I don't expect any decline in quality of the car. Here is a review from Autocar India.
New generation corolla is available here in Kuwait. A photo showed below. The car showed is the latest generation, 2014 model. A new logo QDR (Quality, Durability and Reliability) is displayed on Toyota India Web Site. Anyway, the new corolla is more spacious, and many new features added. Hence wait for the new model.

Re: Toyota: Auto Expo 2014 Coverage

Thank bro, I am gonna wait for the 2014 Toyota corolla. And I would like to thank you for sharing the pictures of the new Toyota corolla on TAI, long before it was launched. It gave us an Idea of how the car actually looks on the road. My budget is 16 lakhs and Toyota J model fits in my budget. The high end variant is getting Diamond cut alloy wheels and optitron meter and variants below are getting alloy wheels with a different design and non-optitron meter instrument cluster. Do you have any idea how the instrument cluster looks like in the basic variant ?

Re: Toyota: Auto Expo 2014 Coverage

Today visited Toyota Showroom. Checked different Corolla Models. Here, we have two models 1.8L and 2.0L Petrol Engines. 2.0L Petrol model with two options, entry level and full options. Full options are having sunroof etc. The sales executive mentioned me the the price of 5800KD. This price is equivalent to 12Lakhs Rs. But we can not convert like that mainly the government is not charging any taxes. I missed my camera but couple if internal pictures.

Re: Toyota: Auto Expo 2014 Coverage

Thanks a lot bro, for your time and effort. [:)] I appreciate for sharing the pictures. In India we get ACC even in the basic model but I prefer manual air-con because ACC tend have problems at some point of time. But hey its Toyota, so no worries [;)]

Re: TAI Exclusive! New Toyota Corolla Spied Testing in India

Here is another review from Zig wheels http://http://www.zigwheels.com/reviews-advice/reviews/2014-toyota-corolla-altis-review/18547/

I have read these reviews and I feel that different reviewers have different perceptions (No offence). I think we need to take a test drive to form an opinion on this car, especially the Diesel. 1.4 D-4D is a world class engine with bulletproof reliability. If Toyota would have thought 1.4 Diesel engine couldn't do the job efficiently in the corolla, then they wouldn't have used it until now. Previous gen corolla Diesel owners should let us know about the vehicle performance.
