Wonder what tata head honchos doing with safari launch. First it was name reveal, then it was vehicle reveal and now hopefully on 22Feb price reveal?
There is a limit on how much things can be stretched. Good or bad the name safari has suddenly generated interest in a vehicle which other wise was kind of written off.
Wonder what would have happened had they given effort in bringing real safari to life. Yeah omegaarc with monocoque body, without AWD but will real safari looks. Not the harrier clone.
Well that's just wishing for diamond in rubble.
Now coming back to life with harrier twins or safari twins whatever you may want to call.
Harrier may get lots features cuts in future to justify price for Safari. So best time to get harrier is now. Feature today gone tomorrow. Safari will get those feature and slighly more in first iteration
Pricing could be about a lac more vs harrier. Dark and camo safari won't be launched as yet else that variant my walk into innova territory.
So future prediction for Safari
Dark and camo launch once there is acceptance in market. I am sure around xuv launch.
Yearly refresh may be with a different front face than harrier but that may just bump the price bit more again.
Overall I am really sad the way they have treated brand safari like just any other car from Tata. Really sad

Buddies,

Here are some pics of the new gen Tata Safari I clicked today. It was in display @ Noida showroom. The one thing I absolutely did not like was the front Chrome grill. Grill is totally unimpressive & looks more of an after market fitting just like the ones we all see in Dzires et al. An all Black grill just like the new Tigor & Tiago or Altroz would have been much more sophisticated and elegant.

Despite my hatred for chrome, I like the front grille. All the outdoor pics of the Safari shows a nice classy fade to the grille. Not so much in the indoors.
If only we could remove that chrome humanity line and that chrome headlight surrounds though.

On the interiors, the ‘Adventure’ persona looks plush with signature earthy brown interiors, dark chrome interior accents on air vents, knob, switches, inner door handle and instrument cluster along with a piano black interior pack on steering wheel, grab handles, floor console frame and IP mid pad finisher. The all-new Safari will be available in nine variants, starting from XE and going up to the XZA+.

In its new avatar, the Safari takes forward the brand’s rich legacy by combining Tata Motors’ Impact 2.0 design language with the proven capability of OMEGARC, the architecture derived from the renowned D8 platform from Land Rover - the gold standard of SUVs worldwide. The OMEGARC, architecture has already proven its mettle with the success of the Harrier.

SUVs is the fastest growing passenger vehicle segment in the country and the new Safari will accelerate the momentum gained by the company’s consistently growing SUV sales which have resulted in a growth of 20% YTD when compared to the same period last year.

In a challenging year, Tata Motors has exhibited a stellar performance in the passenger vehicles market last year, by clocking in over 23,000 unit sales every month successively from October 2020. Furthermore, in Q3FY21, the Tata Motors PV business posted its highest sales in the last 33 quarters. The rising demand can be attributed to the BS6 range, which was launched last year, under the New Forever philosophy of the company. Demand was visible across all products of the New Forever range, including the premium hatchback Tata Altroz and the BS6 Harrier, which stole the show.

This one ad, is making me go back, and buy the new safari.

The Safari 2021 ads for me atleast, seem to be working really well. They Stir-up the same Nostalgia that was associated with Safari, with some telling story-line and they make you really go places. However, the difference this time is, I have the Safari with me, Yeah the old Storme of course.

Who ever the people behind making these ads, great job folks. you have rekindled the flame of Safari.

Tata has hit the ball out of the park with the pricing and the Adventure Edition party trick. As a 90s kid, that reclaim your life AD brings back many teenage memories. Kudos to Tata for reigniting nostalgia with the right balance.
this is the most perfect commercial advertizement that a safari deserves! Iguess there may be hundereds if not thousands who would buy this car just after watching this commercial. As what it does is it ignites a spark in the hearts of all those who were in their late teenage and early adulthood in the 90s who always dreamt of getting on the Safari bandwagon.

Good thing is that Like other OEMs (Mahindra, Toyota, MG aka SIAC) who are charging a premium for the Captain seat versions, no premium by Tata is a welcome move. I however, am of fan of bench seat. captain seat to me is waste of space.
OT:
Recently realized Innova states that 3 people can seat on the rear seat. I am Really???

Over all 1707 safaris dispatched by tata motors and 2030 Harriers. Combined combo of harrier twins have outsold the hector twins by around 100 odd units.
This is more striking when you consider that hector twins have 2 powertrains petrol and diesel where as tata have only diesel.
